C-MAP has released major chart enhancements for Australia and New Zealand which will provide more precise seabed mapping, and improve navigation and safety across popular waterways.

C-MAP has rolled out a significant chart update across Australia and New Zealand, delivering sharper detail and enhanced safety tools for boaters and anglers navigating some of the region’s most popular waters.

The latest upgrade brings significant improvements to C-MAP’s DISCOVER, REVEAL and X Generation chart ranges, with a strong focus on high-resolution bathymetry and more refined shaded relief. The result is a clearer, more precise view of underwater terrain – giving boaters greater confidence when planning routes or targeting productive fishing grounds.

Coverage has been expanded and refined across key coastal areas, with notable enhancements along Western Australia, the Northern Territory and the New South Wales coastline; and across the Tasman, updates also extend to New Zealand’s Auckland region, Bay of Plenty and Poverty Bay, offering improved insight into these well-travelled waterways.

The chart updates are available to both new users and existing customers.

“We’re excited to bring these improvements to our Australian and New Zealand customers,” said Jakob Svensson, C-MAP Product Manager. “Our team remains committed to delivering the most accurate, up-to-date data and continually refining our charts.”

These updates, which enhance the DISCOVER, REVEAL, and X Generation charts from C-MAP, are available to both new users and existing customers who purchased a chart within the past year and maintain an active C-MAP subscription.

Key highlights include:

  • Australian updates covering key maritime regions, such as: Shark Bay in Western Australia, Endeavour Reef in Queensland, alongside the Howard Channel and Beagle Gulf in the Northern Territory
  • New Zealand updates which cover the North Island’s Doubtless Bay, Auckland, the Bay of Plenty, and Poverty Bay. In the South Island, updates also include the Nelson region’s Trafalgar Point and Delaware Bay, as well as the Foveaux Strait in the far south.
  • Official hydrographic office data to enhance navigational data across all technologies and SKUs within the APAC region.

Shaded Relief is exclusive to C-MAP Reveal and Reveal X and are available on a range of chartplotters from the Lowrance, Simrad & B&G brands.
