Apreamare has unveiled the new Gozzo 42, a model that represents the latest milestone in the stylistic and design evolution of its Gozzo line.

More than a range expansion, this latest model also reflects a natural progression of the shipyard’s design language, combining a contemporary style with the enduring spirit of traditional Sorrento gozzo boats.

The project is a collaboration between Cataldo Aprea and Marco Casali (Too Design), responsible for design and styling, and Umberto Tagliavini (Marine Design), who developed the naval architecture alongside the shipyard’s Technical Office – with the result described as a balanced expression of the Apreamare identity, blending tradition, build quality, and functional innovation devised for the contemporary owner.

Stylistically speaking, Apreamare suggests that the Gozzo 42 introduces a new formal language that gives the boat a sportier and more modern look.

The hull, deckhouse and windows have been completely redesigned to create a more dynamic silhouette, without affecting the family feeling that has made the Gozzo range immediately recognisable on the international yachting scene.

Distinctive features of the new model include the sleek hardtop, designed to be fitted with the optional glass windscreen in a solution that increases cruising comfort in all conditions; and the helm station also has a more sculpted design, with a more ergonomic layout and optional air conditioning for maximum driving comfort.

Special attention was also given during the design process to technical and functional aspects: the new air inlets integrated into the hull improve cooling in the engine room, which has a large electrically operated door to facilitate access for maintenance. A technical compartment in the stern houses the mooring gear.

In line with Apreamare tradition, the new Gozzo 42 also offers premium onboard liveability.

The cockpit features a large 200-centimetre-long sunpad in the stern, positioned next to a generous C-shaped sofa that can comfortably seat up to eight people, and additionally, a second area for socialising, in the bow, features a sunpad and facing sofas, designed for a totally relaxing and private sea experience. Both the cockpit and the sunpad in the bow can be effectively shaded by awnings attached to the T-Top structure and supported by carbon fibre poles, improving onboard comfort during the hottest time of day.

The wet bar is fully customised to suit the owner’s preferences and can be fitted with two 85-litre refrigerators, an ice maker and a barbecue, grill or induction hobs, as well as a spacious compartment for tableware.

Completing the outdoor experience is the almost six-square-metre stern platform featuring a retractable swim ladder and a tender lift system.

The interiors have been designed to offer comfort and bright spaces. The master cabin is part of an open-plan layout but can be separated completely from the living area by a door, ensuring complete privacy for the owner; and the cabin is also fitted with two large full-height wardrobes and numerous storage compartments.

In terms of performance at sea, Apreamare reports that the Gozzo 42 lives up to the high standards set by all of its vessels. The variable-geometry hull with skegs is designed for either a conventional in-line shaft drive or a Volvo Penta IPS system, ensuring safety, comfort and high performance in all sea conditions.

Specifically, the boat can be powered by two Volvo Penta D6 engines with shaft drives – 380 hp or 480 hp – or by two Volvo Penta IPS units – 500 hp or 600 hp – for top speeds of between 27 and 36 knots and cruising speeds of between 22 and 27 knots. The boat’s range is ensured by one of the largest fuel tanks in the category, containing 1,200 litres.

With a length overall of 12.80 metres and a maximum beam of 4.20 metres, the new Gozzo 42 is designed to accommodate up to 14 people on board, offering generous spaces and safe cruising even on challenging trips.

With this model, Apreamare continues to evolve its range with a consistent design philosophy: to innovate without losing touch with tradition.

The shipyard confirms that Gozzo 42 perfectly embodies this philosophy – offering “a fresh take on the Mediterranean lifestyle at sea: authentic, convivial and deeply rooted in the centuries-old tradition of the Sorrento gozzo”.
