When Haines travelled to Windy’s headquarters in Sweden, he met with the Windy team and experienced first-hand the craftsmanship, engineering precision and performance that define the brand. The visit reinforced a strong alignment between Windy’s Scandinavian heritage and Haines Yacht Sales’ commitment to representing world-class yachts with credibility and depth of knowledge.
Windy Boats are built to Bentley and Princess Yachts’ quality, delivering a blend of performance, usability and refined design,” he explained.
“The SR40 drives like a centre console with excellent handling, accommodation on board, ensuite and large deck spaces. If the weather turns, you can close the doors to the saloon lounge to create a completely enclosed space. Best of all, it’s a 52-knot boat. We have already had interest from people looking for a 40-footer offering versatility, superb styling and remarkable features.”
The Windy SR40 is part of the brand’s Sports Line and combines performance, usability and refined design in a “go anywhere fast and safe multipurpose family sports boat”.
Launched in 2025 and designed by renowned superyacht designer Espen Øino, the SR40 positioned as a versatile “marine SUV”, designed to bridge the gap between open sports boats and larger superyacht tenders. The hardtop can be fitted with roof racks for carrying watertoys and other gear.
For a “beach club” feature, the boat’s fold-down bulwarks on both sides of the aft cockpit expand lounging space at anchor. Powered by twin Mercury V12 600hp outboards, it can achieve a top speed of 52 knots, while retaining the comfortable, soft-riding qualities of a classic Windy hull.
The first Windy SR40 is scheduled to arrive in Australia post-Cannes Yachting Festival which will be held in September 2026.
