After dropping hints to let the world know that something special was on the way, Zeelander will displayed the first detailed renderings of the new Zeelander 5 with its contemporary interior and sweeping exterior curves. The first Zeelander 5 is expected to hit the water in mid-2022.

Like her big sister the Z72, the Zeelander 5 is even more voluptuous than her predecessors. Zeelander’s DNA is all there, but with curvier lines and a sportier S-shaped shearline. In-house styling and the combined experience of the entire Zeelander team make the new Zeelander 5 a work of art.

“At Zeelander, we want to inspire people to be extraordinary,” said founder Sietse Koopmans.

“The Zeelander 5 is an embodiment of that philosophy. A sophisticated yacht that stands out  and can be personalised to its owner’s taste. The exterior is a continuation of the lines of the successful Z72 and the interior design is truly exceptional for a yacht of this size.”

Attention to silence and functionality

It’s not just about the looks, however. The Zeelander 5 also has improved functionality. Side-boarding doors and a passarelle allow easy entry. A full walkaround cockpit gives access to the iconic Zeelander swim platform. And, most importantly, the Zeelander 5 can be opened up for the summer months with a sunroof and retractable sliding window aft, or sealed off for cool winter cruises.

The new boat is broader in the beam, which offers many benefits. There is greater volume below, naturally, but also better hydrodynamics and cruising characteristics. And the Zeelander yard has one of the best names in the business when it comes to sound and vibration proofing. Running at full throttle, the boat makes an easy 45 knots, but all you’ll hear is sound of the wake astern. Riding at anchor, the generator and aircon produce just 46 dB – literally whisper quiet.

The Zeelander team has put enormous effort into optimising the use of space below. The standard layout offers a huge master cabin aft with a walkaround bed and a dedicated dressing area.

Smart features include a television mounted at an angle over the bed, broad windows for views of the anchorage from your pillow and a beautiful leather-clad dressing table. The sophisticated ambient lighting concept runs to an illuminated sill under each door.

Guests or family will enjoy a luxurious V-shaped twin forward, with a television and a hatch overhead. The separate shower and toilet also offer an exceptional standard of finish.

Custom vision

Choice is integral to the philosophy at Zeelander. Four carefully curated moodboards offer a range of luxurious styles and finishes to perfectly match an owner’s personality. They make expert use of the finest fabrics, leathers and woods for a truly noble finish.

But some owners want to go even further – and that is where Zeelander bespoke can help.

The experienced Zeelander team will work with an owner’s vision to deliver a boat that is perfectly designed around desire, and always a thing of timeless luxury. “For truly demanding clients who desire more complex customisation, Zeelander offers bespoke services,” said Koopmans.

“It goes beyond the standard, where the interior can be created to your exact liking. Every material can be sourced and processed to your wishes, matching the interior of your jet, seaside mansion or favourite car.”

This is just as true on deck, where the seductive sweep of the coachroof encloses the boat’s main living areas in a cocoon of high-end comfort with 360-degree views. There’s an electric sunroof here and an elegant galley. Plump, hand-stitched leather seating allows seven to dine in total luxury.

Effortless power

Flick the backrests over to create twin pilot seats for effortless control of the yacht’s systems.

You’ll never be short of power, with options including twin or triple Volvo Penta IPS 500 or 650 pods, for a maximum 1,440 hp.

It makes for a blistering ride, certainly, but Volvo’s Assisted Docking technology also makes light of close-quarters manoeuvring.

Zeelander has developed various options to make maximum use of the cockpit space. Choose from a curved sofa bank or a convertible sun bed aft, with more sofas or a sleek bar area against the bulkhead.

An additional sun pad tops the coachroof forward, both with the option of shade from an innovative tensile awning that stows in the front and back of the coachroof. To reach the water, the best option is the clever hydraulic bathing steps and handrail, which also act as a pasarelle to reach the dock.

Between seductive exterior styling, a timeless interior and real power, the Zeelander is a unique proposition in the market.

Finish standards are second to none, and there is the option to customise the boat in a way usually only seen with much larger craft. Little wonder, then, that the slogan for the new yacht is “drive your desire”.
