Nautor has announced details of its new strategic direction during the Monaco Yacht Show, including the first preview of the Swan Alloy 44, the world premiere of the Swan 128, and confirmation of additional product lines.

The announcements were made during Swan Talks, a live event held on 26 September that examined Swan’s legacy in maxi yachts and outlined the company’s evolving portfolio.

Contributors included designers Germán Frers and Malcolm McKeon, Sanlorenzo executive chairman and chief executive officer Massimo Perotti, Nautor Swan chief executive officer Giovanni Pomati, and Bruce Brakenhoff of Edmiston.

Swan Alloy 44

The Swan Alloy 44 marks the brand’s first aluminium supermaxi. Designed by Malcolm McKeon with Nautor Swan’s product development and technical office teams, the yacht is intended to offer new options in customisation, stiffness-to-weight ratio and lifecycle serviceability, while retaining the familiar Swan proportions. A full technical release and launch is expected in 2026.

McKeon says: “Alloy gives us new freedom without losing the Swan silhouette, elegance in line, purpose in detail, and a sailing experience that feels effortless.”

According to Perotti, it will be the first yacht to be launched from Nautor Swan’s new Viareggio facility, with hulls built at Gouwerok Yard in the Netherlands.

Swan 128

The Swan 128 made its global debut at Port Hercule during the show. Designed by Germán Frers, the model incorporates performance features with additional interior volume and deck ergonomics.

Frers says: “The 128 distils Swan’s language for today: efficiency on the water, clarity of space, and the quiet confidence owners recognise the moment they step aboard. Creativity is an essential part of my design work and my life. It produces endorphins on my body and manifest on me as a mixture of excitement and pleasure.

“I work to create an object which is harmonic, that would attract the largest number of people possible. Where form and function are part of the recipe.”

Perotti adds: “With the launch of the Swan 128 and the groundbreaking Swan Alloy 44, the brand continues to push the boundaries of innovation while remaining deeply rooted in its heritage.”

Nautor Swan and Edmiston partner

Nautor Swan and Edmiston also used Swan Talks to announce a broader commercial partnership to develop a new range of alloy yachts over 40 metres, with the first design led by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design. The collaboration supports the Nautor Swan for America initiative, which began with its partnership with American Magic, with Edmiston’s Newport, Rhode Island office acting as the operational base for sales and promotion.

Perotti says: “We acquired Nautor Swan to complement our product offering, entering the sailing segment with the most iconic brand. Sanlorenzo and Nautor Swan share similar values, catering to a club of ‘connoisseur’ yachtsmen who are passionate about the sea. We are actively exploring new markets, and have exciting plans ahead of us with sailing also positioning itself as a sustainable choice.

“Our partnership with Edmiston is a natural progression of our shared vision which opens up new opportunities for the future of both brands.”

Edmiston has confirmed its role in the Alloy 44 project. Brakenhoff notes: “For Edmiston, this partnership is a natural step. Nautor Swan is one of the most legendary brands in sailing. We believe in the Swan Alloy 44 project and its potential to set a new standard in a superyacht sailing market that holds growing appeal.”

Through this partnership, Nautor Swan aims to promote performance sailing in the United States, building on its work with American Magic and the new ClubSwan 28 American Series.

Nautor Swan has revealed that the Alloy 44 will be followed by up to two further alloy models exceeding 50 metres. Alongside this, a Bluewater line named SwanScape is in development. These projects will sit alongside the Maxi and ClubSwan ranges.
