Sunreef has presented its new 65-metre Explorer, a concept described by the Polish boatbuilder as its latest flagship and the world’s largest luxury catamaran. The yacht, with a gross tonnage of approximately 1,800 GT, has seven double guest cabins, two pools, a beach club and extensive living areas.

Accommodation on the Sunreef 65-metre

Explorer includes a forward owner’s suite occupying the upper deck, with floor-to-ceiling windows, a king-size bed, a swing-chair, two bathrooms, a bathtub, a walk-in wardrobe and an office. Two VIP cabins are located aft of the owner’s suite, each with walk-in wardrobes and large bathrooms. Four additional guest cabins are located on the main deck, each with storage and a bathroom. Crew accommodation allows for 22 staff.

The yacht features large communal spaces, including a main deck dining area for up to 14 people, twin lounging areas, and an upper deck designed for more private use. Facilities here include dining for up to 12, a four-seat bar and a lounge. The bridge deck incorporates a bar and a contemporary lounge with panoramic glazing.

Outdoor areas include a 6m-long pool on the main deck aft, a Jacuzzi on the upper deck aft, and a large beach club with a gym, toy store and space for a 7m tender and jetskis. Fold-down wings on either side expand the platform and provide additional access.

The yacht’s design includes reverse bows, darkened glass and curved lines, in keeping with Sunreef’s familiar style. Performance figures include a maximum speed of 18 knots, a cruising speed of 14 knots and an eco speed of 10 knots.

The vessel is designed for long-range cruising, with capacity for 140,000 litres of fuel and 20,000 litres of fresh water. The yacht is also equipped with an A-frame crane capable of handling a 45ft chase boat.

“I can’t imagine a more comfortable platform for a genuinely ambitious cruising programme,” says Sunreef CEO Francis Lapp.

“The 65M Sunreef Explorer is an exquisite yacht designed to provide long-term luxury for a large owner’s party.

“It offers so much space for easy living and carrying large quantities of supplies and toys. At the same time, it is an incredibly efficient operator. This is a yacht to broaden the horizons of an exceptional owner.”

Sunreef Yachts, founded in 2002 by Lapp, has shipyards in Gdansk and Ras Al Khaimah. The company has introduced a number of innovations in the catamaran market, including oceangoing luxury models and technologies such as solar power systems and hybrid propulsion, designed to help mitigate the environmental impact of superyacht cruising.

Its Eco range is a current focus, with ongoing development of solar and battery systems. Previous Sunreef clients include Rafael Nadal and Fernando Alonso.
