Scones and sparkles

The only thing better than tea? Tea with bubbles and a dessert trolley with a theatrical flourish!

If you like your high tea served with a side of serious glamour – and let’s be honest, who doesn’t? – then Pullman Sydney Olympic Park has just the thing.

The much-loved High Tea Affair is back for 2025, running every Saturday from 1:30 pm to 4 pm at Bacar Restaurant, and it’s shaping up to be an afternoon of unbridled indulgence.

The event kicks off in spectacular style with a complimentary glass of Kylie Minogue Prosecco Rosé, a drop so effortlessly chic it practically demands a toast. Think fresh strawberries, raspberries and a whisper of blossom, all wrapped up in elegant, effervescent bubbles. (Sip. Sigh. Repeat.)

And then there’s the food. Curated by none other than Jiun An Lin, freshly crowned HM Awards Chef of the Year 2024, this high tea isn’t just about finger sandwiches and a few scones, it’s a masterclass in delicious decadence.

So what can you expect?

    • Cured salmon crêpes so delicate they’re practically floating.
    • Smoked duck breast focaccia  – because every high tea needs a touch of luxury.
    • Spiced buttermilk raisin scones – the kind that might just ruin you for all other scones.
    • The Dessert Trolley, an ever-changing wonderland of sweet treats, complete with a theatrical nitro display – because why shouldn’t dessert come with a bit of drama?

Of course, all of this is expertly paired with Dilmah Tea, because the right tea can make or break a high tea experience, and Pullman is taking no chances.

But wait, there’s more! Cue the elegant drumroll … This year, Cristina Re Designs is bringing an extra touch of magic to the affair, with their Signature High-Tea Collection making a dazzling appearance.

Crafted from vegan-friendly New Bone China and finished with 24-carat gold, these teacups are the kind of thing that makes you feel like you should probably be wearing a tiara.

Even better? Guests receive an exclusive discount on the collection, meaning you can take a little slice of the experience home and casually sip your morning tea from something ridiculously glamorous.

Now, if you’re already giddy with excitement, here’s the kicker – Kylie Minogue herself is performing at Qudos Bank Arena from 1 March 2025 for her highly anticipated Tension Tour.

Could you possibly think of a better excuse for a pre-show indulgence or a girls’ weekend with an extra splash of sparkle? Thought not.
