Following on from last year’s spectacular new layout that joined the Main Pavilion and Superyacht & Marine Pavilion with options for on-water testing, the 2017 edition of the show will host another round of fishing guru Paul Burt’s Shimano Live Bream Shoot Out fishing tournament and the highly anticipated SEAbbatical Short Film Festival on 25 May.
Not to leave out the younger generation of boaties, SCIBS will also host a range
of attractions for children who visit
over the four days. Everyone’s favourite swashbuckling pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow, will welcome young visitors to Sanctuary Cove between 9am and 1pm each day, and a Kids Zone is ready to host a range of fun free activities for children of all ages.
Luxury car enthusiasts will welcome the news that Supercar Street will be returning. Commenting on its success in 2016, Hasser said that the revamped Supercar Street will bring even more thrills.
Hosted by AIMEX, Gold Coast City Council, the Queensland Government and SCIBS, the International Business Lounge will once again welcome visiting delegations, while the Topdeck VIP Lounge will offer a premium boat show experience. Continuing the luxury lifestyle theme, Sundance Marine – Australian dealers for Monte Carlo Yachts and Monte Carlo Power Boats – has chosen this year’s SCIBS for the Australian premiere of the Monte Carlo 6 (MC6). The impressive 60-foot (18.2-metre) luxury cruiser will convey Monte Carlo’s blend of creative design and impeccable Italian styling, through a selection of exquisite materials and trims.
Voted boat of the year in the ‘Flybridge up to 60-foot’ category at the Motor Boat Awards, the MC6 is an international favourite due to its styles, services and intricate build.
Commenting on the success and growth of the industry over the Australian summer, O’Brien said: “Exhibitors are telling us it has been a good summer and sales are strong, so they are taking more space and investing greater resources for SCIBS 2017. There has been a notable demand for increased space in both pavilions. The Boatyard is well stocked with a wide range of boats and the Marina has over 120 boats booked in.”
“There’s really no event quite like SCIBS,” Hasser added. “We are certain exhibitors and seasoned visitors will be impressed with the evolution of the show. And for the uninitiated, SCIBS 2017 will be a phenomenal family-friendly day out that ticks all the boxes!”
Tickets to SCIBS 2017 events, onsite parking options and VIP packages are available online. See you at the show!
