Benetti Yachts has announced its focus on the Asia-Pacific region is bearing fruit following reports that a record number of new sales have been made to Australian buyers over the last three years.

According to a press release supplied by Benetti Yachts, these three years have contributed €260 million (AU$415,800,079), with the region now accounting for roughly a quarter of the brand’s global sales.

“We see the Australian and New Zealand markets aligned and even exceeding the global reaction to the pandemic with a huge surge in demand not only for yachts, but moreover the design for new yachts,” said Benetti Yachts Asia–Pacific General Manager Peter Mahony.

“Australians have a unique culture and passion for adventures and the outdoors, which makes yachting an ideal leisure pursuit to enjoy Australia’s pristine waters and breathtaking scenery. Benetti views Australia as a key future superyacht charter hotspot,” he added.

“While each yacht is personalised to a buyer’s exact requirements, we see Australian buyers identifying the lifestyle-focused layout and features of Benetti’s Oasis Deck and the incredible versatility of the B.Yond 37M series as perfect for the region.”

The development follows the brand’s long history with Australia. During the 1980s, Queensland-based builder Keith Lloyd brokered a 20-year licence with Benetti to locally build the company’s designs.

But this presence has blossomed in recent years with the company embarking on partnerships with Australia’s marine and superyacht industry, including Gold Coast’s Australian Superyacht Rendezvous, the 2017 Sydney Boat Show and the 2019 Superyacht Marine Export & Commercial Industry Conference.

This evolving presence has additionally seen Benetti collaborate with Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard and Rivergate Marina and Shipyard to provide priority repairs and maintenance for Benetti owners.

Mahoney added, “Ensuring our Australian buyers have a clear understanding of how a Benetti yacht will be maintained and supported is an important part of our service-first strategy.”

“Furthermore, it has been important to the Benetti brand to be able to guarantee our buyers second‐to‐none access to world class repairs and maintenance to keep their Benetti vessels on the water.”

Benetti Yachts has expressed that the first of these new yacht sales is slated for a late-2022 arrival.
