Singapore Yacht Show will undergo changes in 2020 to capitalise on growing boating interest in the region.

The 10th edition of the Singapore Yacht Show (SYS) next year will see a significant change of timing, moving from its traditional April slot to the 19 – 22 March 2020 – one week after both the Dubai International Boat Show and the Taiwan International Boat Show, and one week before the Palm Beach show in the USA.

The confirmation of the 3-weeks earlier timing follows an overwhelmingly positive response from exhibitors and visitors to a suggestion that the show should avoid the clashes of the past few years with the Easter, Songkran and School holidays, as well as hopefully benefitting from the usually cooler and drier time of the year in Singapore.

A popular show for nautical lifestyle enthusiasts in Asia, the four-day event gives visitors an opportunity to discover more yachts than displayed anywhere else in the region.

SYS brings together custom and semi-custom superyacht builders, production boat manufacturers and a whole raft of luxury lifestyle brands, all displaying their latest innovations, design concepts and product launches.

In addition to these global showcases, the Singapore Yacht Show 2020 will also deliver a truly immersive experience for those looking to discover the yachting lifestyle through a series of high-octane events and activities.

“The past ten years have seen an unprecedented development in the boating industry across the region,” says Andy Treadwell, CEO of Verventia.

“Having said that, the industry in these parts is still relatively small given the huge potential the market holds.

So we still have a lot of work to do – we need to get all the key industry players working together to develop this amazing region, persuading the people and their governments alike to embrace the marine lifestyle and all the important economic and societal benefits it brings to local and national communities.”
