Gulf Craft’s Majesty 100 premiered at the Dubai International Boat Show, the brand’s first semi-convertible flybridge with all the features “Gen Y” could wish for.
On show at DIBS, hosted by the Dubai International Marine Club in Mina Seyahi, the new Majesty 100 features a powerful, but efficient propulsion system, lavish interiors and expansive lounging area.
Gulf Craft says that the model is a response to the recovering demand for mid-range yachts, which the company’s CEO, Erwin Bamps, attributes to upcoming waterfront developments and a growing appetite for luxury cruising among the region’s affluent Millennials, those born between 1980 and the early 2000s.
“This is a very exciting time for us as yacht builders,” said Bamps. “From the recently announced Dubai Harbour project and the Dubai Canal, to the Deira Islands and the Port Rashid Marina, aspiring yacht owners will soon be spoiled for choice when it comes to how and where they want to use their craft. Combined, these ambitious waterfront projects will pave the way to a thriving yachting community that will largely be comprised of younger boaters.”
The Majesty 100 is an entry-level yacht suited for new boaters who want a weekend on-water retreat or an ocean adventure.
It is the first in Gulf Craft’s fleet to have a partially enclosed flybridge, allowing guests sitting within its spacious lounge area to take in sea views – as though they are seated in a traditional flybridge, but with the comfort offered by indoor living.
Those wanting fresh air can slide down the glass panels and open the folding doors fully, converting the area into an outdoor lounging space.
The Majesty 100 is the first model to boast a semi-convertible flybridge.
Gulf Craft’s in-house Design Studio created the exterior, interior, naval architecture and design. The team based the layout of the Majesty 100 on the principles of maximising space and stretching the outdoor experience through to the interior.
The raised wheelhouse comprises 270-degree vertical glass panels, yet another first by Gulf Craft, offering the Captain unobstructed views.
On the main deck, floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to flow through the cabin. Two hydraulic extendable balconies fixed on both ends of the back-seating area offer passengers an alfresco experience, while still having access to the craft’s main indoor living and entertainment areas.
The main cabin and five ensuite staterooms are decked in the marble countertops and white oak flooring and can accommodate up to 12 guests.
Powered by two 1,900 hp MAN engines, the Majesty 100 can travel at a maximum nautical speed of 23 knots. The boat deploys a V-drive propulsion system, and therefore houses the engines within the rear side of the craft, which allows for increased onboard space and comfort.
