With the growing popularity of limousine tenders to transport guests in total comfort and safety away from the elements, there have been a number of challenges for superyacht builders and crew to accommodate and operate these often large and heavy boats, not least the practical challenges of launch and retrieval.

Enter the Xtender 8.0m Limousine tender, built from pre-preg carbon fibre composites, delivering a lightweight yet strong and highly stylish option for superyacht owners. It weighs 2,700kg as standard and, to ensure safe clearing in superyacht tender garages, the Xtenders 8.0m Limousine has a full height of just 1.8 metres when out of the water, which should comfortably fit any garage dimensions.

Light on weight doesn’t have to mean light on speed, however. The tender can reach speeds of up to 40 knots, thanks to twin 260hp engines and smart hull design from renowned Dutch naval architecture studio Vripack.

The yacht’s interior features plush leather seating for up to 10 with arm rests, wood panelling and flooring, skylights for a bright ambience and plenty of glazing for spectacular views. Access from the rear is made even easier for guests by sliding roof hatches and a deck shower at the rear makes the limousine tender also a good platform from which to enjoy the water.

The boat is available in three styles, each with driver position independent from the cabin, which offers reassuring privacy for the guests.

On the Venetian model, the tender’s helm is positioned up front for easy manoeuvring and two seats are located at the tender’s aft for a more rejuvenating experience by the water.

The Limousine Somnium sees a more traditional tender layout with the helm at the rear and enclosed bow; while the Limousine Global features additional exterior seating and steps on the bow as well as a rear helm position.

Xtenders has already built and delivered its first limousine from the range, for 67-metre Lürssen M/Y Global. A range of customisation options is available for buyers, including drivetrain, finish colour, refrigerated drinks cabinet, custom adaptable lighting, air conditioning and a number of multimedia devices.
