Tom Barry-Cotter, son of company founder Bill Barry-Cotter, said the X-Series stems from the largest design and development project ever undertaken in the company’s history, further solidifying the brand’s long-term future plan.

“The shaft driven, Maritimo X60 will be the most technologically advanced vessel the company has ever manufactured, with performance and systems developed collaboratively with the World Champion Maritimo Racing Team using race-proven components and the latest 3D modeling and fluid dynamics software,” he said.

“The X60 will inherit and evolve on the attributes of sea-going performance, durability and fuel economy synonymous with the Maritimo brand.”

In a world first for a vessel of its size, this latest creation from Maritimo is set to revolutionise the sport yacht boating seascape.

The Maritimo X60 design features a large aft cabin and ensuite accessible from both swim platform and saloon, which provides customers with customisable spaces only seen on larger superyachts.

Barry-Cotter says the incorporation of an aft cabin is an exciting, new direction in motor yacht design.

“The X Series is a result of an extensive customer focused design and development process from our ongoing R&D program,” said Barry-Cotter.

“The X60 design makes a statement, whether at sea or at anchor. From its advanced hull lines and performance to the floor plan design with incorporation of aft cabin and versatile entertainment capabilities, the X60 will revolutionise the sport yacht concept.”

The Maritimo X60’s aft cabin incorporates twin entry points, via swim platform and the internal staircase from the saloon, extending the X60 living space to that similar of 70 foot vessels. It then enables customers to opt between Beach Club, Queen Stateroom, Euro Galley or Service Cabin with optional tender garage and laundry.

The innovative Beach Club aft cabin option forms a cabana style twin level entertaining and relaxation space that connects aft to the vast swim platform area. An in-built mini galley and bar allow for a wide range of refrigeration and storage options.

“Throughout the design process, we heavily analysed user behaviour in entertainment aspects of the design,” said Barry-Cotter.

“Owners are continually seeking versatile indoor/outdoor spaces to enjoy being close to the water, in a sheltered environment.

“Whilst entertaining in the cockpit, the aft ensuite provides a secondary day head where guests aren’t required to walk forward to the lower companionway.

“When using the aft exterior for relaxation or play owners and their guests can access the ensuite only requiring walking wet feet from the swim platform to aft ensuite as opposed to through saloon and companionway.”

The X60 design enables a four-cabin configuration option, in offering an aft Queen Stateroom which converts the aft cabin space into a separate large private VIP cabin.

Further versatility more suited to the European market has an expansive commercial style Euro Galley occupying the aft cabin, vacating space for extra lounging and dining in the saloon, said Barry-Cotter.

Base power engineered into the advanced straight shaft focused hull design are twin-Volvo D13 800hp Diesel motors, with option to upgrade to Volvo D13 900hp, Volvo D13 1000hp, Scania 825hp and Scania 925hp.

A fuel capacity of 4200L, economic fuel consumption and efficient hull design, means the X60’s range will be top of its class.

Barry-Cotter said on the main saloon level – light and fresh air are in abundance with the option for twin sun roofs located above the helm and aft galley, in addition to innovative three-stage sliding side windows that create a 3.0 meter length opening port and starboard sides of saloon.

The saloon centrepiece is the large island bench aft galley and its appliance versatility derived from Maritimo M70 and M64 designs. Two large opposing lounges are located forward, which integrate with central TV Unit and bar.

The contemporary starboard side drive dash design with unrestricted eyeline forward from the standard twin helm seats sits adjacent to the atrium style companionway, allowing the plentiful light and ventilation from the saloon to penetrate to the lower deck.

The X60 forward accommodations feature a full beam master stateroom, a large bow VIP cabin with unique offset berth and a twin bunk cabin located centre to starboard.

The full beam master has its own luxurious ensuite area with separate toilet and shower cubicles. A study desk and daybed flank a standard queen berth, with walk-in robe area and 40-inch TV located forward.

Maritimo’s International Sales and Marketing Manager, Greg Haines, said the new design was very exciting and marked a new direction for the company.

“Maritimo’s hallmark cruising motor yacht design continually leads the way in innovation of new design trends and technologies,” he said.

“The X60 follows this culture and adds to the company’s striking model range and further strengthens the scope of the Maritimo brand. All in all, the new X60 is an exhilarating new way to enjoy life on the water.”
