Tankoa Yachts, the Italian builder based in Genoa – itself a city with incredible maritime heritage – has quickly earnt a reputation for building fine 50-metre-plus superyachts that combine modern styling and luxurious practicality. But it has also dipped below that length boundary, with the notable 45-metre T450 model drawing attention.
With the first two T450s in build at the moment – and with the first due for delivery this year – Tankoa has just announced the sale of a new project, the TX450. Initially developed around the T450 concept, which was penned by designer Giorgio Cassetta, the TX450 is an explorer version based on the same 45-metre, 440-gross-ton design but developed into a fully custom project from the keel up.
Teased renders hint at the TX450’s profile – and as Cassetta is responsible both for the interior design and for the exterior lines of the custom TX450, the parallels to and DNA of the T450 are clearly evident in the graceful and clean lines.
“The concept of the yacht was developed around the idea of exploring the world in comfort and Cassetta up came with a very balanced design that we define as a crossover style,” says Claudio Corvino, Sales and Business Development Manager at Tankoa.
The TX450’s design has been developed over a four-deck layout with what Tankoa says is a unique interior arrangement for a yacht of her size in that all the guest suites are situated at main deck level, including a generous master stateroom.
Social areas therefore are mainly focused on the upper and bridge decks, which makes sense for an explorer – after all, you want to make the most of the views with elevated positions for your saloons. The interior also offers a gym and spa area, plus a convertible multifunctional room which can serve as a sixth guest cabin if required.
‘The yacht’s design matches perfectly the proportions of an explorer with the elegant touch typical of all Tankoa yachts,” says Corvino.
“The yacht was really designed in cooperation with her discerning owner, who has been involved in all the details of the exterior and interior design from day one.”
Among the various external social areas, which are spread across all decks, there are two pools – one of which is at sea level in the stern surrounded by two opening side platforms. There is also a beach area effectively developed on three levels when the tender and jetskis are launched, offering incomparable lounge space for the yacht’s size.
Final engineering is currently being completed on the yacht, and construction is due to begin imminently with delivery set for Spring 2025.
Tankoa reports that is also has eight other projects in build: two S501s, the two T450s, two T55 Sportivas, a T580 Custom, and the Tankoa Vitruvius 52
