Australia’s world class motor yacht builder, Riviera, and New Zealand Dealer R Marine Flagship, will present a fleet of seven gleaming motor yachts when they welcome owners and visitors to the Auckland On Water Boat Show starting on Thursday 28 September and running to Sunday 1 October.

The display, the largest ever by Riviera in New Zealand, includes four new model premieres, the extremely sea-kindly 57 Enclosed Flybridge, sophisticated 4800 Sport Yacht and sporty and adventurous 525 and 445 SUV models.

The luxury showcase at Viaduct Harbour will also feature the Riviera 52 Enclosed Flybridge and two Sport Yachts, the 6000 and 5400.

The coming weekend festivities will include a special Auckland evening of celebration for the Riviera family, too.

Riviera chairman and owner Rodney Longhurst said, “New Zealand has a proud reputation for embracing the motor yachting lifestyle, and I am delighted that Riviera luxury motor yachts have been a vital part of that lifestyle for 37 years. Kiwis have long regarded Rivieras as premium motor yachts and more than 600 owners now attest to this.”

“Our Auckland showcase will reflect how we continually strive for excellence, for exceptional bluewater sea-keeping capabilities and for a totally fulfilling boating experience.”

Riviera 57 Enclosed Flybridge - Auckland Premiere
The three-stateroom/two-bathroom Riviera 57 Enclosed Flybridge is a stylish bluewater motor yacht.

“The 57 Enclosed Flybridge is a powerful combination of quality and design," said Mr Longhurst. "An inspiring cockpit and mezzanine layout creates an entirely new indoor/outdoor living experience while the aft deck of the large flybridge offers yet another place to relax.”

The mezzanine includes an L-shape dinette to port and two barbecue units on the starboard side. A sliding glass door and large awning window connect this space with an entertainer’s galley in the aft quarter of the saloon. Its gourmet galley is equipped with three-burner induction cooktop, convection oven, four drawer fridges and two freezer drawers, a dishwasher and a wet bar opposite. Forward of the galley is the dinette with U-shaped seating and, on the starboard side, a large L-shaped lounge.

The fully enclosed flybridge is designed with a forward helm station including central helm seat and starboard companion seat. State of the art electronics include innovative Glass Bridge touch-screen navigation and CZone digital switching systems.

The accommodation includes a full-beam master stateroom amidships with a king-size bed and large hull windows with opening portlights for cross-flow ventilation. An ensuite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe are in a space aft of the stateroom. The guest cabin forward of the master includes adult-size pullman-style bunks. Forward, the VIP guest stateroom includes a queen-size island bed, twin cedar-lined wardrobes and hull windows.

Engine options include Volvo Penta IPS pod drives with twin D11 (533kW/725hp) or D13 (662kW/900hp) engines and joystick controls or CAT C12.9 (2 x 735kW/1,000hp) engines and shaft drives with bow thruster and optional Express Joystick System.

Riviera 4800 Sport Yacht - Auckland Premiere

Riviera's Sport Yacht hallmarks are embedded in the DNA of the 4800: sleek styling, luxurious single-level entertaining layout and superb sea-keeping capabilities.

“From the boarding platform and tender garage, through twin transom gates to the cockpit with its generous seating on two lounges, full wet bar and double barbecue, this is a sport yacht designed for entertaining,” said Mr McCafferty. “An entertainment zone on the forward deck offers a large sun pad with folding back rest."

“Natural light fills the expansive interior living space with its aft galley and spacious dinette opposite. An electric salon sunroof slides open for additional light and fresh air, or an amazing view of the stars at night.”

The command centre of the 4800 Sport Yacht features the latest Volvo Penta and Garmin Glass Cockpit navigation and systems monitoring, with two 12-inch multi-function screens.

The 4800’s accommodation layout gives owners a large atrium lower lounge that can comfortably seat up to five adults and provide additional sleeping for one adult. The luxurious master stateroom forward features large hull windows for natural lighting, a queen-size walk-around bed and a contemporary styled ensuite. The guest cabin amidships features three adult-sized single beds. There’s the option of the two port side beds sliding together to create a double.  A second bathroom is on the port side immediately forward of this cabin.

Base power for the 4800 is the Volvo Penta D8-IPS700 propulsion system with twin D8 engines and IPS20 pod-drives (405kW/550hp each). The D8-IPS800 system featuring twin D8 engines and IPS20 pod-drives (441kW/600hp each) is optional. All Volvo Penta systems are covered by an industry-leading five-year warranty.

Riviera 525 SUV – Auckland Premiere

The sporty and adventurous 525 SUV is ideal for entertaining and watersports or for extended cruising, with its large cockpit, elegant interior, three-stateroom accommodation and a 3,500-litre long-range fuel tank.

All models in the SUV collection cleverly combine the bluewater offshore hull and open cockpit of the Flybridge collection with the single-level living attributes so well loved in the Sport Yacht collection.

The cockpit is certain to be the centre of activities with lounges fore and aft and excellent barbecue amenities.

A glass sliding door and awning window open to seamlessly create one unified space from the large boarding platform through to the front windscreen. The 525’s interior saloon includes a fully equipped U-shape galley aft on the port side with dinette immediately forward with a comfortable lounge opposite. A central helm and port companion chairs are immediately forward of the dinette, facing a sport wheel, engine controls and comprehensive navigation displays.

Stepping below to the accommodation deck, the 525’s master stateroom amidships on the port side features a queen-sized walk-around bed. A private ensuite is forward. This stateroom has the option to be configured as guest accommodation, with the forward VIP stateroom configured as the master.

Riviera has selected the proven Volvo Penta D11-IPS800 system to power the 525 SUV, with twin D11 engines and IPS20 pod-drives (460kW/626hp each). Owners have the option of upgrading to the IPS2-950 pod-drive package (655kW/725hp each).

Riviera 445 SUV – Auckland Premiere

The versatile 445 SUV offers myriad options to suit specific boating requirements – from recreational cruising and luxury entertaining to serious deep-sea fishing, with a hull and cockpit drawn from the bluewater Flybridge collection.

Key features include an aft-facing mezzanine lounge forward of the cockpit with storage underneath and an awning window that opens to the cockpit to create a free-flowing space from the forward port-side helm, past the aft galley through to the large rear boarding platform.

“The saloon is both elegant and practical with starboard U-shaped premium leather lounge encompassing a hi-lo dining table that folds and lowers to become a coffee table or extra bed, complementing those on the accommodation deck where the master stateroom forward features a queen-sized island bed and ensuite bathroom,” said Mr Longhurst. “The full-beam guest stateroom amidships features three adult-sized beds, two of which can slide together to create a double. This stateroom has private access to the second bathroom as a true ensuite or can be closed to allow this bathroom to serve as the day head.”

The 445 SUV also features the very latest in marine navigation and onboard systems technology, from touch-screen navigation aids and simple joystick manoeuvrability to CZone digital switching.

Power is provided through the twin Volvo Penta D6-IPS600 turbo diesel engine system with IPS10 pod drives delivering impressive fuel efficiency, low noise levels, long cruising range and high top speed.

The Riviera display at the Auckland On Water Boat Show will be centre stage at Viaduct Harbour, site M31 from 28 September 28 to 1 October.
