Italy’s Sanlorenzo has announced the imminent launch of a digital boat tour for its 44-metre, five-decked model currently in construction, the X-SPACE.

Named the Walk Through Live Tour, this immersive online experience will reveal, deck by deck, both alternating renderings and real space shots of the upcoming superyacht.

Designed to reach faraway destinations without sacrificing the brand-defining value of elegant lines, the X-SPACE features a tonnage of 495 GT, an impressive volume for a yacht of this size.

Reflecting this interaction between design and function is the spacious aft area on the main deck – a huge multitasking terrace with an 18-square-metre swimming pool overlooking the surrounding waters. The open-air living room, available to owner and guests, can also be extended by another 18 square metres due to folding balconies and its connection to the inside area.

However, most notably present in the X-SPACE is its unusual upper deck, which combines onto the bridge deck with the wheelhouse to create a vast space dedicated entirely to the owner.

The prioritisation of the owner experience is again present with the apartment in the villa feature of this model; an entire private deck that offers a study, living room, a large master cabin framed by glass walls, private deck at the bow and a 30-square-metre sunbed area with swimming pool.

Bernardo Zuccon, Chief Architect of Zuccon International Project, says: “It has never been so important as it has in this project to seek to identify with the owner, who will be the great commander of this boat, hence the desire to create an entire deck dedicated to their needs.”

Zuccon continued, “This is a solution normally found on larger boats, which shows this is a yacht where the owner will have the great luxury of being able to spend a lot of time on board.”

Zuccon International Project was the firm responsible for the X-SPACE’s exterior design, which is primarily defined by the theme of transparency.

“I’ve always thought that architecture is the primary tool to allow people to live better. In this case, the X-SPACE project was born with the desire not to create a wonderful floating structure, but to create a wonderful vessel for life,” Zuccon added.

Responsible for the interiors, which have fused in continuity with the exteriors, was Piero Lissoni, who would go on to say that the X-SPACE was “forced to become a boat almost entirely made of glass.”

“There are large panes of glass, large windows and some of the cabins no longer even have portholes but glass walls.

“The interior has forced its hand on the exterior and the exterior has been so elastic and so well designed that the interior has almost adapted itself in a totally natural way,” Lissoni later elaborated.

He finished, “This is the most innovative language I’ve seen on a superyacht to date, which has made it possible to create a compact boat with extraordinary proportions and the unique quality of Sanlorenzo.”

Sanlorenzo has confirmed that the brand expects the first unit of the X-SPACE to be delivered in 2023.
