Over the October long weekend, over 100 Alexander Marine customers gathered for the annual Whitsundays Get Together event, held in the stunning surrounds of Cid Harbour in Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands.

This year’s rendezvous – the seventh to be held in Australia’s cruising capital – was picturesque, with three charter superyachts and a theme designed to transport everyone to the Hamptons, New York’s opulent beach playground.

The day began as the group, consisting of international guests, existing customers and new faces, departed from Hamilton Island. Despite a sudden downpour of rain when the group arrived at Cid Harbour, this quickly cleared, setting the stage for a memorable day.

The charter superyachts that played host to this year’s gathering were the 2004 Moonen 84 Aurora, the 2020 Ocean Alexander 88 Escapado and the 2013 Custom 92′ expedition motor yacht Segara – all vessels previously sold by Alexander Marine.

Alexander Marine’s dealer principal/director, Todd Holzapfel, held a welcoming speech, prompting guests to have fun, celebrating the event in its seventh year and noting the recent appointment as a Whitehaven Motor Yacht dealer.

The Ocean Alexander 88 became the hub of entertainment for the evening, as the talented band Left of Centre illuminated a makeshift stage on the boat deck. The dance floor was set on the boat deck of Segara, creating a lively atmosphere with everyone on their feet.

Meanwhile, Aurora offered a serene and relaxed atmosphere, serving as a chill-out zone for those who wanted to take a break from the dance floor or enjoy the views of Cid Harbour.

This year’s theme, inspired by the Hamptons, transformed the boats with blue and white fixtures. Blue hydrangea arrangements adorned the boats, setting the tone for a day of luxury.

Adding to the event’s highlights were the bartenders on Segara, who mixed up a storm. The cocktail of the day, the Long Island Blue, was reportedly a particular hit among the guests.

Amidst all the revelry, two people among the guests were celebrating their first anniversary at the event, having met during the 2022 edition – a heartwarming tale that set the convivial tone for the night.

As the night continued, the stars above shimmered, conversations flowed, memories were made, and the sense of camaraderie among the Alexander Marine family undoubtedly grew stronger – reminding everyone why they return to these gatherings year after year.
