Being unprepared for these unexpected emergencies puts people at higher risk of injury when unable to provide first aid or be at first response. A new innovation, Dfence Epod, puts the emergency essentials every family needs in one simple, easy to use unit allowing for peace of mind when travelling, boating, camping or at home.
Prompted by the devastation of watching a neighbour’s house burn down in a rush to find their emergency fire extinguisher, two Melbourne dads saw the need for a new product containing all the essential fire emergency items to be available so nothing like this happens again.
Co-Founder and General Manager, Sam White, said the product is designed for homes, apartments, cars and even boats.
“Every Australian wants to be prepared, but the fact is, many of us aren’t,” he said. “When my neighbour’s house caught fire, they couldn’t locate their fire extinguisher, so the MFB were called, wasting valuable time.
“In a stressful situation, such as when faced with a fast-moving blaze, the solution needs to be easy and accessible. That’s why we have designed the ePOD to be small enough to mount on the wall, door or in a cupboard, with all the tools at your fingertips.
“Whether you’re a homeowner, renter or landlord, knowing that the right equipment is easily accessible provides peace of mind.”
The Dfence Epod includes an Australian-made fire extinguisher, fire blanket, torch, first aid kit and mesh bags for storing other important response items and will ensure the family and friends are prepared if need be.
The Epod is small enough to fit in the boat, car and caravan without taking up too much space. The compact item is 4 kilograms and the size of a laptop bag, and designed to give all the tools you need to be a first responder.
