After four months of renovations, InterContinental® Sanctuary Cove Resort has revealed its $2.5-million Lagoon Beach Club. Inspired by European summer and festivities cascading onto the sand, the Lagoon Beach Club brings the beach to the northern Gold Coast along with waterside dining and a relaxed atmosphere in a summery setting.

General Manager Matt Rippin says the major renovation was proposed to meet an unmet desire on the northern Gold Coast and provide an offering that many travel overseas to experience.

“As the northern Gold Coast becomes more populated, there is a gap in the market for a destination-inspired venue that brings the beach to this part of the coast,” he said.

“The Lagoon Beach Club celebrates the Resort’s iconic lagoon pool, adding a beach club influenced by European summers and grounded by its Australian home. It puts Sanctuary Cove on the map in a bigger way than ever before.

“We anticipate high demand over the summer months for a space that brings together residents, locals and visitors with an experience we know they will love.”

The refurbished and chic Lagoon Beach Club includes direct access from the marina to the resort and an expansive deck for events and dining, three Cabanas and double day beds for guests to enjoy at their leisure, plus a new dining and beverage menu that focuses on seafood, share plates and tropical flavours.

“It was important for us to create a fresh, vibrant and contemporary space that touches on the fun of a European beach club and also caters to families. It’s a holiday experience that transports guests far away from their busy lives,” he added.

With classic summer-style cocktails, a chilled seafood spread, sharing platters and a delicious range of pizzas, the Lagoon Beach Club will be a must visit dining experience in South East Queensland. A schedule of live music, DJ sessions and activations including Malfy Gin will be offered over the summer holidays.

A Resort Pass at $30 per person will also be offered and allow for use of the lagoon and pool facilities with availability strictly limited and advance bookings essential.

The Lagoon Beach Club is now open, trading daily from 10 am to 5 pm, and Friday and Saturday evenings to 9 pm.
