Windcraft Yachts has announced the Fjord 41XL is set to arrive in Australia some time in the next year, signalling a first for the award-winning model.

Earlier this year, the Fjord 41XL was named the European Powerboat of the Year in the Up to 14 metres category at boot Düsseldorf and Delius Klasing Verlag industry gala, Flagship Night.

Running at 12.7 metres in overall length, or 13.39 metres with the optional bathing platform and a beam of 3.99 metres, the model has been designed to focus on the customer experience. The biggest distinction of this is the customisation options of the Fjord 41XL, with owners being afforded the opportunity to design their model, offering modular configuration on deck and a variable interior design.

A new hull was developed to implement this approach and includes a noticeably large T-top, providing both sun protection as well as a space for interior and deck design.

Twin Volvo Penta D6-340 engines enable an expected speed of 30 knots while the choice of either twin D6-380 or D6-440 deliver an estimated speed of 33 and 38 knots respectively.

A master cabin with double berth, two wardrobes, sideboards, two drawers underneath the bed are also included in the model as standard, as are the three skylights, two of which are openable, and the fully equipped head with separate shower stall.

“It’s a completely new boat. Fjord has decided to put a lot of thought in the new design, so there’s a lot of headroom,” says Tanja Stindl, the Project Manager for Trade Fairs and Events at HanseYachts AG, in a video tour of the Fjord 41XL.

She continues, “With the layout, we actually have 90 different layouts you can choose from.”

Founded by Alf Richard Bjerke and originally based in Norway, Fjord Boats has been producing motor boats since the 1950s. In 2005, the company was acquired by HanseYachts AG.
