White Bay 6 Marine Park located in Sydney Harbour has achieved level 3 Clean Marina accreditation. This comparatively new facility is a major supplier of boating fuel on the Harbour as well as providing boatyard and dry stack facilities and services.

The Marina Industries Association (MIA) Executive Officer was on hand to present the Clean Marina certificate and flag to White Bay 6 management staff.

Mr Bransgrove said “Achieving Level 3 accreditation requires a holistic commitment to environmental best practice. The audit process includes a site audit guided by a 103-point checklist.

“Key functions inspected include mechanical activities, boat maintenance and storage, fuelling, facility management, workshop, mechanical, shipwright and boat repair, emergency planning and equipment and boater education. A written report with detailed feedback is provided to the marina.”

The General Manager of White Bay 6 Marine Park Jeremy Rose said “It is very rewarding to be working with a team and business who are environmentally conscious and so focused on positive outcomes for our environment, clientele and the local community.

“This program, whilst being environmentally rewarding, has enabled us to develop a modern business culture that we see as a benchmark for the wider marine business market.

We believe being a part of the Clean Marina program allows us to assist in providing a positive outcome for the industry”.

The International Clean Marina Program is a voluntary accreditation program for marinas and boat yards. The program is administered by the MIA with the use of qualified independent auditors.
