The 2023 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is turning out to be one for the record books for Horizon Yacht Australia, with a string of sales in just the first days of the four-day event.

Horizon Yachts CEO John Lu and son, Joey the company’s Director of Business Development, joined Horizon Yacht Australia team for this year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, 25 to 28 May.

On day 1, Horizon kicked off the SCIBS 2023 in grand fashion, with the signing of an order for a new build Horizon E85 Sport Yacht. This will be the fifth Horizon and fourth new-build for the experienced owner, whose most recent yacht is the Horizon E75.

For his new yacht, the owner has specified a single-level sport yacht with a four-stateroom layout and the capability for owner operation.

Renowned Dutch designer Cor D. Rover has been commissioned to design the new yacht, which will feature a unique pilothouse helm station, an integrated outdoor barbecue kitchen and the largest galley in its class. This model will feature a tender garage and the capacity to carry up to 12,000 litres of fuel.

Yacht broker Don Senior with Horizon Australia's Mark Western sealed the deal on a new Horizon FD80.

The custom-built FD80 will feature a sports cockpit designed for fishing.

Horizon Yachts FD90 was sold on the Saturday of the boat show.

On day 2, in a joint deal with yacht broker Don Senior, a new Horizon FD80 was commissioned by a New Zealand owner, a first-time client that will specify a custom sports cockpit designed for fishing.

The popularity of the Horizon Fast Displacement Series of yachts has never been more apparent than in recent months, making the FD series, designed in collaboration with Dutch firm, Cor D. Rover, the fastest growing in the Horizon brand offering.

Then on Saturday, 27 May, Horizon team signed a deal for a charter-classed Horizon FD90 new build.

Having recent purchased a Horizon E73 and the vessel undergoing a complete refit, the client and his family attended the 2022 Horizon Yacht Australia Owners’ Rendezvous. This led to the inspiration to build an FD90 that could be classed for charter.

The owner says he sees a tremendous potential with a yacht offering the volume and amenities afforded by the FD90’s design and looks forward to creating a next-level charter experience with his new yacht.
