Riviera has announced two European premieres to highlight its on-water showcase of three motor yachts at this year’s 40th Anniversary Cannes Yachting Festival. The five-day festival opens on Tuesday 12 September.

Riviera’s International Sales Director, Chris McCafferty, said the company is proud to showcase the new Riviera 68 Sports Motor Yacht, fresh from its World Premiere at the Sydney International Boat Show at the beginning of August.

The company will also host the European premiere of the elegant 4800 Sport Yacht and showcase the Riviera 5400 Sport Yacht during the French festival.

The Riviera 68 Sports Motor Yacht will be the centrepiece of the company’s display this year.

The new-concept craft has been designed to offer the exhilaration of sports performance with the luxurious comforts for which Riviera is internationally recognised. The collection includes two models, the 68 and a 72 model.

This motor yacht is designed to CE Category A certification, allowing superior offshore capability and extended cruising.

The cockpit of the 68 Sports Motor Yacht offers everything a sports fisher or water sports enthusiast could hope for as well as plenty of space for relaxing. The elevated alfresco mezzanine forward of the cockpit includes a large dining area and is connected with the central U-shape gourmet galley through a stainless steel framed door and large awning window as one large lifestyle space, positioning the chef at the heart of a social environment.

A port side door on the mezzanine leads down to a day head, shower and utility room or comfortable crew cabin with direct access to the engine room.

The foredeck on the Sports Motor Yacht can include a large tender and 550kg hydraulic davit. When the tender is launched, this area quickly transforms to a fabulous eight-seater sunken entertainment centre that can be covered with a fold-away bimini.

The saloon features a plush lounge to port and a dining area that can seat up to eight people to starboard. A large TV forward of the galley rises at the touch of a button and is comfortably viewable from both lounge and dining areas.

An internal timber staircase provides direct access to the flybridge, a space in which skipper and guests can enjoy extended passages or relaxing at anchor.

Guests can relax on lounges along the entire starboard side facing an entertainment unit.

A special feature of this space is a fold-out double bed secreted under the aft lounge, offering a penthouse-like environment.

A stainless steel framed glass door and awning window connect the flybridge with a rear deck and alfresco dining area.

The accommodation deck offers two stateroom options: the four-cabin Classic or the three-cabin Grand Presidential design.

The Classic accommodation layout offers a midships master stateroom with ensuite bathroom along the starboard side while the Grand Presidential design includes a full beam master stateroom with ensuite bathroom in the starboard fore quarter. The VIP guest stateroom forward includes a walk-around queen-size bed and a private ensuite.

A third cabin aft of the guest stateroom on the port side features twin single beds. The Classic layout includes a fourth guest cabin on the starboard side with two full-size pullman-style beds.

The Sports Motor Yacht features an array of innovation and technology that includes next generation CZone digital switching which can interface with an iPad for mobile systems control and monitoring.

In the spacious engine room, power for these magnificent motor yachts comes from twin MAN V12 1550 engines delivering 1,550hp (1,140kW). Twin MAN V12 1800 or 1900 engines are optional.

The new Riviera 4800 Sport Yacht will also be making her European debut at the Cannes Festival.

With an aft galley and elevated C-shaped lounge and dinette table opposite, the saloon space is an entertainer’s delight, providing excellent all-around visibility. The 4800’s two-stateroom accommodation layout offers a large atrium lounge that can comfortably seat up to five adults. At night this space offers additional accommodation.

The tender garage has space for a 2.7-metre RIB.

“Riviera has created a highly responsive new hull for the 4800 Sport Yacht that perfectly matches the Volvo Penta IPS800 propulsion,” said Mr McCafferty.

Riviera will also be proud to demonstrate to Cannes festival attendees that their Riviera 5400 Sport Yacht has set a new standard for luxury single-level living, cruising and entertaining yachts in the mid 50-foot category.

“The three-stateroom, two-bathroom 5400 model is an inspiring evolution of the luxury indoor/outdoor, single-level living design for which our Sport Yacht series is highly acclaimed,” said Mr McCafferty.

The tender garage under the cockpit will accommodate a 3.3-metre RIB.

The 5400 harnesses the Volvo Penta IPS propulsion system featuring IPS950 power.

Riviera’s CEO Wes Moxey, International Sales Director Chris McCafferty, and Brand and Communications Director Stephen Milne will be on hand at the festival to provide full details of the new Belize 66 Sedan and Daybridge models. Their display will be located at Cannes Vieux Port, Pantiero, Stand PAN029.
