Following the cancellation of last year’s event, the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival has taken its next step to fruition with the official dates set for the 7–12 September.

The decision comes following the continuous improvement of the health situation in both France and in Europe following vaccination campaigns, the announcement of the French Government loosening its health measures and the planned reopening of trade shows from June onwards.

Traditionally, the Cannes Yachting Festival acts as the inaugural event of the region’s nautical season as well as holding the title of Europe’s biggest in-water boat show.

Remaining in line with history, the 2021 edition will be one of the first major events for this season.

Currently, the event has confirmed almost 600 boats and 430 exhibitors have been registered, and over 140 previews, a 10 percent increase to 2019.

Organisers have confirmed the event will be in full compliance with all current health standards, and that work is currently on building adaptable health procedures, monitoring and counting tools to meet any regulatory frameworks.

Presentation of a health pass is likely to be mandatory for visitors taking part in the event.

“We are working in close collaboration with the City of Cannes and the Palais des Festivals to welcome our exhibitors and our visitors in the best possible conditions,” said Cannes Yachting Festival Director Sylvie Ernoult.

“We are delighted to welcome you back to Cannes after this long absence and we know that our exhibitors will have some wonderful surprises for our visitors.

“A real dream come true!”
