US brand Fleming Yachts has unveiled a first look of the new Fleming 85 with a brief video of hull #001 being released from the mould.

“Today is a momentous day in the history of our company as we just released the first Fleming 85 Hull from the mould,” says Fleming Yachts Director Adi Shard in the 54-second video.

“Along with our team of architects and naval engineers, we’ve been hard at work for the past three years creating this new design,” he adds.

“This will be the ultimate cruising yacht with true ocean-crossing range, superb hull fuel efficiency and speeds of up to 25 knots.

“[We] look forward to giving you more updates soon.”

Penned by Australian naval architects Norman R. Wright & Sons, the Fleming 85 features a semi-displacement hull specifically built to be efficient and traditionally Fleming, the yard employing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to fine tune the design.

Available in either open or enclosed flybridge, the Fleming 85 additionally presents huge storage lockers on the foredeck as well as raised, sheltered seating and dining for up to 10 on the aft deck. A sheltered gull-wing door with access to engine room and crew’s quarters is also present.

Inside, there is various options for accommodation layouts, and different interior styling from traditional to contemporary, but always elegant, comfortable and practical.

The cockpit is easily accessible with ample storage for all dive gear and fishing equipment while a swim platform is expansive enough for all uses and hydraulic lowering option makes it easy for additional tender or personal watercraft storage and launching.

It is currently unclear when further updates of this exciting first hull will be publicly available.
