Drettmann Yachts has presented the latest model in its Bandido brand with the 49.9-metre explorer vessel B-50.

Bandido Yachts is the custom division for explorer yachts from Drettmann Yachts, based in Bremen, Germany. Under this brand, individual projects are constructed according to customer requirements, using the experience of the Drettmann team. The shipyard says there are no limits to its projects’ design, size and equipment.

With the B-50, Drettmann is presenting a new Bandido project with a volume of 499 gt and a beam of 9.3 metres. The B-50 can accommodate twelve guests in six cabins, with the owner enjoying a private deck with a jacuzzi and lounge. As the crew perform anchor manoeuvres from the deck below, the owner has a seamless view of the sea from their suite.

Notable features for all guests on the B-50 include a sheltered outdoor cinema at the rear of the upper deck, a gym with a fold-out balcony on the lower deck and a 6-metre-long pool on the main deck, on the sides of which the bulwark can be folded out to enlarge the lounge area.

When the water is drained, the bottom of the pool can be raised so that it is flush with the deck. A helicopter can then take off and land on the touch-and-go area for owner and guest transfers if required.

The B-50 is powered by pod drives, which allow its captain to manoeuvre with greater ease. Drettmann Yachts specifies a maximum speed of 14 knots for the stylish explorer; at a cruising speed of 10 knots, the B-50 can travel around 4,500 nautical miles non-stop.

Drettmann Yachts has extensive experience in individual one-off constructions. The firm has built 1,000 flybridge yachts up to over 40 metres in length and delivered 25 explorers between 30 metres and 52 metres in length.

“[It’s] a very interesting yacht project that will certainly appeal to many customers,” says Claus-Ehlert Meyer, managing director of Deutsche Yachten.

The Deutsche Yachten working group consists of hand-picked German companies that are active in constructing and outfitting yachts over 24 metres in length. The working group is part of the German Boat and Shipbuilder’s Association, with over 60 members representing the best German yacht industry, including Drettmann Yachts.
