Monaco Yacht Show, set in Port Hercules, is the place to admire, visit and purchase around 120 extraordinary one-off superyachts built by the world’s most respected shipyards.

With the overuse of the word ‘custom’ in today’s superyacht industry it can be hard to know what is truly custom – i.e. designed and built from scratch – and which yachts are actually variations on a platform.

The vast majority of superyachts are variations on a pre-designed platform with clients having options within set parameters. Even minor choices are deemed to make a customised.

Feadship is different, where the focus is on truly bespoke yachts. Feadship claims that their projects often start with a blank piece of paper and the inspiration of the clients, as was the case with recently launched Samaya.

2 September saw the launch of Samaya, one of the most colourful Feadships built to date. The 69-metre Feadship features a lunar white coating that turns a warm pink hue in various shades of light. Her teal-coloured waterline mirrors the colour of a rare blue-green fish spotted by the owner on a diving excursion.

Add in the giant backlit manta ray symbols on the fashion plates and it’s clear that Samaya is a fully custom yacht. The owner and family will go diving around the planet.

Samaya has been great fun for us to build,” confirmed Henk de Vries. “This was a real adventure for all involved and we can’t wait to hear the stories that unfold as you explore the world.

“A lot of sailing will be in the Indian and Pacific oceans and Feadship is delighted to have one of our yachts in this part of the world.”

To illustrate how this custom collaboation works in practice, Feadship will be at Monaco Yacht Show to feature an exclusive Carte Blanche experience.

This will be a unique opportunity to see how your Feadship yacht might look like should the funds become available. And for those who may already be in such a position, invited guests can have an instant live action sketch drawn by one of our designers in a private booth at the back of the stand.

Feadship are presenting this process as the Feadship DNA experience. At this year’s Monaco Yacht Show Feadship are offering visitors the chance to discover their Feadship DNA by taking an interactive survey at our stand (QT3 / T CENTRAL).

Feadship will also have the awesome Feadship Aquarius and Hurricane Run on display (access by invite only) at the show and there will be many other Feadships in and around the event to spot.
