The recently completed 75.75-metre, four-deck superyacht One by Feadship features design solutions aimed at enhancing its functionality for both private and charter use.
Studio De Voogt penned the yacht’s exterior, favouring clean, simple lines, while Paris-based Gilles & Boissier handled the interior design, drawing on their experience with projects like New York’s Baccarat Hotel.
“The brief was for a masculine design that was also timeless and elegant,” says Thijs Orth, designer at Studio De Voogt. “The predominantly straight lines and bold forms are combined with subtly nuanced surfaces that catch the light and make the whole yacht interesting to look at.
“As always, we collaborated very closely with the engineers to make sure everything worked as it should.”
Orth highlights specific design features, such as the chamfered edge on the bow’s bulwark that gradually tapers toward the aft. This chamfered detail continues along the main deck’s widebody windows and on the yacht’s superstructure.
“To soften the predominantly horizontal lines and add a more sensual feel, we also added quite a pronounced tumblehome when viewed from the stern,” says Orth, referring to the inward slope of the upper part of a boat’s sides. “This curvature is continued on the sides of the sundeck roof.”
The main deck includes a full-beam VIP stateroom equipped with a private lounge and balcony, which is usable even while underway, providing a versatile space that can serve as a secondary master suite for charters.
The master stateroom, situated on the deck above, includes access to a terrace with a Jacuzzi and a flexible lounge area. The raised foredeck accommodates a touch-and-go helipad, while the garage below holds a 9.5-metre limo tender, crew tender and various water toys.
The main deck aft features a large pool, while the sundeck aft includes a hot tub. A gym on the bridge deck has wrap-around glazing and three-sided opening glass doors.
The yacht’s teak decking is laid diagonally, marking a first for Feadship in this style.
“We had a lot of fun designing this yacht,” says Orth. “Masculine elegance is not an easy look to achieve, but One is robust yet sleek and chic at the same time.”
The transom area takes a traditional approach, with sweeping staircases leading to a spacious swim platform with an integrated swim stair. The beach club, accessed through inward-folding transom doors, is lit by natural light via the glass-bottomed pool.
One provides accommodation for 12 guests across a master stateroom, a VIP suite, and four double staterooms on the lower deck. The crew quarters support eighteen crew members. Powered by twin MTU engines with conventional shafts and propellers, One achieves a top speed exceeding 15 knots and has a range of 5,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots.
One is scheduled for delivery in early 2025 and is represented for sale by Arjen van Elk in collaboration with Edmiston.
