Xcel Yachts has revealed more details of its new catamaran, the Xcel 70, which is on track for its maiden voyage in January 2025.

The Xcel 70 is the first model from Xcel, a new brand from UAE-based boatbuilder Riviera.

With a length of 23.5 metres, this catamaran is designed for both long voyages and social gatherings.

The Xcel 70’s teak-clad deck features multiple sun pads, lounging chairs, and a spacious dining area for guests. The flybridge, at 80 square metres, is among the largest in its class and offers customisation options alongside cutting-edge navigation systems and leather seating.

The standard boat features a diesel engine. Riviera says it foresees an optional eco-friendly hybrid propulsion system, which combines traditional diesel power with an electric motor, making this vessel more fuel-efficient.

The Xcel 70 has a robust hull and structure designed to handle adverse weather and remain stable in intense winds and high waves. The twin-hull design typical of catamarans enhances stability and reduces rolling at sea, making it a reliable choice for long voyages.

The Xcel 70 can accommodate up to eight guests in four ensuite cabins, each with rich wood panelling and neutral colour schemes.

For larger families or charter use, the Xcel 70 can be configured with five or six cabins, along with two distinct crew quarters.

The launch of the Xcel 70 in January 2025 will mark a milestone for Riviera and Xcel Yachts. Riviera, unrelated to the Australian brand of the same name, also builds boats under the Integrity, Rcat, Sea Star and Riveria brands.
