Nearly 14 years in the making – from its beginnings in a South American shipyard to its triumphant three-year completion at Golden Yachts in Greece – Project X can fairly claim to have had one of the most extraordinary journeys of any yacht.

Now, the 88-metre yacht, which debuted at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2022, is becoming a staple of the international charter market, boasting a full summer 2023 season and a deliciously tempting winter 2023 and summer 2024 program.

There’s every reason to yearn for a chance to experience your own journey aboard this spectacular yacht – Golden Yachts is highly experienced at delivering top-drawer yachts that specialise in charter, and combined with an owner who loves to cruise with their family, Project X boasts true multi-generational appeal.

The yacht itself is a masterpiece, from the large aft deck with glass-edged pool to the sundeck gym with a 360-degree view, and the 9-metre-high glass atrium and lift that is lit via huge windows with the yacht’s signature stacked-X motif, courtesy of Ken Freivokh Design.

The spectacular, award-winning beach club boasts huge waterside terraces and spa facilities including hammam, sauna, beauty salon and wellness centre.

Guests and VIPs are all spoilt in sumptuous cabins spread across the main and upper decks, while the owner’s deck provides the charter principal with a true haven of escape. What’s more, there are conference facilities on board that link directly to the foredeck helipad.

Complete with cinema, several stunning guest areas and superb crew service, Project X offers an experience that would be hard to repeat and could never be forgotten.

It’s an experience that’s being overseen by the team at Camper & Nicholsons, which is acting as charter manager for the yacht and its itinerary for the end of 2023 and through the 2024 Northern Hemisphere summer.

“We had a great summer 2023 season with the yacht, with the last charter running right up to 30 September,” begins Sylvia Katsamaki, Charter Manager at Camper & Nicholsons.

“It’s not surprising – Project X has huge, amazing deck areas that are well shaded, so you can enjoy being outside even in the height of summer. The beach club is spectacular as well,” she continues. “There are two drop-down terraces that open the area fully across the beam of the yacht, which means when you spend time down there, you’re fully connected to the sea.”

The interior – designed by the Massari Design studio of Italy – offers a contemporary aesthetic with large artworks, a breathtaking array of textures, and the deft use of more than 150 materials. Project X is a veritable haven for the ultimate getaway with family, friends or business partners.

“For family charter, Project X is perfectly set up – it’s very family-friendly with a lot of space because the owner also uses the boat with their family,” Katsamaki says. “There are also joint cabins that can be opened up, which is perfect for nannies and the kids.

“For business purposes, the cabins are on three different levels, so if you’re chartering with business partners, you can separate people out, or separate business from leisure,” she continues. “Plus, there’s a huge office with a meeting table, and a second office.”

For those focusing more on pleasure and indulgence, Project X offers extensive wellness facilities and a team ready to pamper you. “There’s a qualified beautician on board as well as a masseuse,” enthuses Katsamaki.

“The crew are all highly experienced – they can entertain the kids and help you enjoy the array of water-sports toys, from the custom Pedrazzini tender and Seabobs right down to the jetskis and inflatables.

“There’s even a videographer on board who can document your charter holiday and give you an edited film at the end of your journey, preserving all the incredible memories you will be sure to make.”

For those with a slant toward the gourmet, Project X boasts a highly accomplished chef and galley team. “What the chef and his team create is unique on the market,” says Katsamaki.

“Of course, they can prepare anything and everything you want, as the chef is proficient in a huge variety of cuisines, from Italian, Spanish and Greek to Asian. He’s also hugely inventive and adept at fusion cuisine – couple this with incredible presentation skills and what you have is something truly special.”

Project X already has a flexible agenda for the northern winter and summer seasons, offering something for everyone and anyone tempted to sample her seductive charms. The yacht will cruise through the Middle East before spending the festive season and the first three months of 2024 in the Indian Ocean, where she can be chartered in the Maldives or the Seychelles.

As the northern summer season kicks off in May 2024, Project X will return to the Mediterranean – France, Italy, Croatia – where she will offer the perfect platform for exploring some of the world’s most famous cruising grounds. “We already have some charters booked for the South of France and Italy next year,” Katsamaki offers.

“She’s the ideal yacht to explore the spectacular hidden gems of Croatia in the Adriatic and the Greek islands, which is a fitting location for her as her spiritual home is near Athens.”

At 88 metres, she’s also the perfect size for the Mediterranean – large enough to offer every convenience and yet still small enough to visit all the most sought-after bays, ports and anchorages. More than that, though, is the feeling you get when you’re on board.

“She’s just amazing,” Katsamaki concludes. “You get an entertainment platform, a wellness platform and a culinary platform all in one. Project X is a yacht on which you can be completely relaxed and completely removed from reality – we can create a charter experience that will refresh you and fill you with memories. She really is the X on the treasure map.”
