Wellness weekend

Pampering meets personal growth at new luxury retreat by Bronwen Gora.

A wellness weekend with a difference comes to a luxury destination nestled on Sydney’s outskirts.

Personal growth has never looked this good: guests at the upcoming 3-day Envision retreat in May will not learn new introduced to ways to improve their lives but do so in the lap of luxurious Italianate boutique escape, Guestlands.

Located at Arcadia on Sydney’s outskirts, Guestlands is 40 minutes from the CBD. Here guests will have a chance to unwind completely amid the extensive gardens and plush suites while leading clinical psychologist Dr Aileen Alegado and other health professionals take care of the rest.

Over the fully catered weekend, Dr Alegado will facilitate group sessions based on clinically proven interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) methods. The aim is to have guests uncover ways to make the most of their lives and address any “blind spots that could possibly be holding them back”, Dr Alegado says.

“This is a retreat for people who are at a level where they are prioritising their health and wellbeing and would also like further self-development,” Dr Alegado explains.

“We’re looking for high performers who want to take the next steps to fulfill their full potential.”

But why blend a holiday retreat with work on self-development? “Because it’s the perfect environment,” Dr Alegado says.

“A retreat is a time to reset, recharge and go somewhere else to reflect without the noise of day-to-day life. And this wellness retreat focusses on your wellbeing, physical and mental.”

Guests will also have the benefit of receiving medical input from a leading physician whose clients range from high-level executives to Olympians. The GP will offer bespoke health assessments focussing on bioenergetics, longevity medicine and preventative health.
