Turkish yacht builder Vicem – known for its cold-moulded wood construction methods and sleek, contemporary classic cruisers – has added a new 66-foot flybridge yacht to its 250-strong fleet. The Vicem 65 Classic Flybridge offers timeless Down-East styling with options for customisation and the finest craftsmanship.

The cruiser, which evokes the style of yacht seen traditionally harking from Maine on the US east coast, includes a generous master suite amidships complete with island king, with a gloriously finished ensuite VIP in the bow enticing guests to come and stay.

Between the two, a large down galley with an accompanying dining area serves a secondary purpose – the dining area can be closed off with sliding doors, creating a third double cabin.

Throughout the interior and exterior areas, Vicem’s trademark woodwork is on display. The builder relies on 3,000 years of Turkish craftsmanship to produce beautifully appointed wood finishes, with cold-moulding for the hull also proving to be an environmentally sound alternative to conventional GRP.

The 65’s main deck features a large full-teak cockpit with an L-shaped lounge and a second dining table for alfresco meals. The saloon has another L-shaped lounge, plus additional seating, and excellent natural light thanks to large windows.

The two spaces are connected via a door with a frameless, electric window that creates a feeling of openness and continuity. A small aft galley in the saloon has a small bar area with a sink, icebox, and icemaker that services two alfresco Besenzoni bar stools on the deck side.

Up top on the flybridge there’s a wet bar and barbecue, a third L-shaped lounge, which can convert into a sunpad, and an outdoor helm.

The 65 can be specified with either the wood construction for the hull or more conventional fibreglass, and there are also options between conventional shaft drives or twin Volvo Penta 1,350 hp IPS pods.

The top speed of the 65 Classic Flybridge is 32 knots, with a handy cruise speed of 26 knots. Aside from the build material and engines, other options include Humphree fin and interceptor stabilisers and a hydraulic swim platform.

The model also comes outfitted with four lithium batteries, each of them 630 amps, which are longer lasting than traditional ones: with these batteries, without using the generators, the boat can operate for more than 15 hours.
