Heesen Yachts has delivered YN 20350, MY ALP, during a celebration in the Dutch city of Hellevoetsluis.

ALP had been berthed in Hellevoetsluis following successful completion of sea trials in the North Sea and recently departed Holland for its maiden voyage to the Mediterranean.

“This time-honoured maritime tradition not only forges a bond between the vessel, the shipyard, the crew, and the sea but also invokes a sense of pride and anticipation for ALP’s future journeys,” says Mark Cavendish, Heesen’s CCO.

“On behalf of everyone at Heesen, I would like to express our gratitude to Jim Evans and his team at Superyachts Monaco for their exceptional collaboration on this project.”

ALP is part of Heesen’s 50-metre semi-displacement series. Frank Laupman of Omega Architects penned the exterior lines, and the vessel can achieve a top speed of 23 knots.

Heesen says the yacht’s “thunder” results from “intelligent engineering, precise aluminium construction and meticulous weight calculation.”

Indeed, Heesen is one of a few shipyards in the world that can build aluminium hulls in-house to precise tolerances without compromising luxury.

The interior, which spans almost 380 square metres, is the creative work of Cristiano Gatto’s team and Heesen’s in-house engineers. Heesen Interiors, the boatbuilder’s fine cabinet-making company based in Winterswijk, allowed the project to accommodate last-minute requests to personalise the interior furniture to the client’s taste.

ALP can house 12 guests in five staterooms alongside nine crew in five cabins.

The outdoor spaces of ALP are ideal for entertaining guests at sea, while the sundeck, partially protected by a hardtop, features a whirlpool surrounded by sun pads aft, a bar and a dining area, and a seating area forward.

The wheelhouse deck aft terrace is ideal for al fresco dining. Thanks to flush sliding doors, this space connects with the sky lounge, creating an outdoor indoor area. The main deck aft sports raised sunpads serviced by an adjacent bar.

Elevating the relaxation area offers guests privacy when docked stern-to in a marina. Additionally, this design solution allows a full-height beach club just below. When the transom door is open, it connects with the beach club and creates a desirable space by the sea, which will surely become the centre of entertainment on board ALP.

Thanks to its shallow draft of 2.1 metres, ALP is suitable for exploring the waters of the Bahamas. Its 50-metre length allows it to enter the most popular ports in the Mediterranean, such as Portofino and Saint Tropez.
