Aqua Expeditions have added the 50-metre Aqua Mare to their fleet. The luxurious, seven-suite superyacht has completed ger inaugural Galápagos sailings, welcoming aboard guests from 14 countries, including Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, France, the UK, Lebanon, Mexico, Peru and the US.

As with all ships in the Aqua Expeditions fleet, Aqua Mare enjoys an exclusive one-to-one crew-to-guest ratio, with 14 crew members and two naturalist guides on board.

Guests are treated to personalised service and exceptional cuisine by award-winning Peruvian chef, Pedro Miguel Schiaffino. Chef Schiaffino delivers a Peruvian Japanese-inspired menu, using only the freshest sustainable ingredients from local suppliers in the Andes of Ecuador.

The menus feature regionally inspired items such as Creamy Naranjilla Pie, Shrimp Encocado, Passionfruit Suspiro, Ceviche Ecuatoriano and Margarita Icecream. Quinoa Yakimeshi and Octopus Sashimi represent some of the Japan-inspired dishes and there are daily vegetarian and vegan options.

Special Aqua Mare drinks include the Bloody Mare, a Meyer lemon combined with Ecuadorian peppers, Endemica Blonde Ale and Reptilia Irish Red Ale, both from Galapagos craft breweries. There is an extensive Old World and New World wine and spirit list too.

The major drawcard of the Galápagos is the melting pot of diverse wildlife, flora and fauna, with one of the richest marine ecosystems in the world.

The compact size of the elegant Aqua Mare means guests can get up close and personal with some of the rarest species found nowhere else on earth.

Guests can choose from seven and 14-night itineraries that explore both the east and west of the Galápagos archipelago, tailoring their experience to be as action-packed or laid-back as they like.

The itineraries feature a range of outdoor activities, from scuba dives and snorkelling to guided hikes and leisurely strolls. Aqua Mare is fully equipped with top-of-the-line non-motorised water sports equipment including kayaks and stand-up paddleboards.

“No other expedition cruise business offers a ship with the calibre of Aqua Mare, built by an Italian luxury mega yacht builder,” said Francesco Galli Zugaro, Aqua Expeditions CEO and Founder.

“Aqua Expeditions offers its guests the ultimate retreat, featuring oversized custom-designed suites, and ample elegant indoor and outdoor social spaces, including a sundeck, beach club and cinema room.

“The feedback from passengers aboard our inaugural sailings prove we’re on the right track with the launch of this ship.”

Rates on Aqua Mare start from US$9,450 per person for a seven-night itinerary, including all meals and beverages (non-alcoholic, premium wines, and beer), local transfer to/from recommended flights, all excursions, Galápagos Park entrance fee and INGALA transit card, laundry service and internet.

A seven-night charter for up to 16 passengers starts from US$196,000, including house spirits and a private massage therapist five hours per day.
