Hard on the heels of the 115-foot ECO catamaran, Marc Pajot has consolidated the collaboration with Ancona-based builder Wider Yachts, to create a 44-metre (145-foot) catamaran, the 145 EcoYacht.

This revolutionary aluminium and carbon catamaran follows the overall design and performance objectives of the 115, which embodies a wealth of innovative design features and impressive styling.

Sailing legend Marc Pajot has ensured that both yacht designs will be at the forefront of sailing performance for effortless passage-making in style and comfort.

At 44 metres, the ECO 145 is an impressive and spacious sailing superyacht. With a 15.5-metre overall beam that incorporates twin 4.10-metre hulls, the internal volume and total deck space is equivalent to a much larger monohull of similar length.

The living space is an impressive 260 square metres and, in the custom yacht spirit, can be configured for individual owners’ requirements. Extensive entertainment areas include a swimming pool and a private owner’s pool, a beach club at the stern and sunbathing areas.

The 145 EcoYacht will benefit from the Wider Yachts expertise, with hybrid-propulsion making it a very environmentally friendly sailing superyacht. Accommodation is configured for 12 guests in five cabins with provision and crew cabins for a crew contingent of seven or eight.

The Marc Pajot DNA ensures that the ECO 145 will sail efficiently, making fast passages in the lightest airs while guests enjoy the stable motion of the catamaran design. Sailing at 12 knots, the 7 Kw/h hydrogenerators are charging the battery systems to allow silent CO2-free motoring and peaceful overnight stays in the best anchorage locations due to the shallow draft.

The sailing experience is without noise and drama due to the easily handled sail plan that utilises a 250-square-metre boomless mainsail to make sure the sailing passages are relaxed and safe.

Marc Pajot of Wider-Pajot ECO Yachts commented, “The synergy with what I have been developing with our eco catamaran and the superyachts produced by Wider is exceptional.”

“The eco-credentials are now an important factor in expectations and demands from the eco-aware yachting customer. Adding leading-edge hybrid power-train technology developed by Wider and their specialist technical partners and suppliers has created a unique yachting opportunity and experience.”

Marcello Maggi, CEO of Wider Yachts, remarked, “We are just beginning an age of eco awareness for yachting as a whole and Wider will be at the leading edge of this technology at all times, from hydrogen power to the dawn of new power sources such as thermionic converters.”

“I am personally very excited about our partnership with Marc Pajot and his exceptionally talented team of naval architects and yacht designers. Together we will build some spectacular eco hybrid catamarans, setting a new benchmark on the oceans.”

The new ECO 145 has a distinguished design and engineering team: Marc Pajot for the vision, sailing performance and team management, Nicolas Fauroux design engineer with many acclaimed superyachts to his name, and Franck de Rivoyre and Christophe Larose for structural and rigging.

The team brings together a wealth of specialist catamaran experience to the ECO 145 and Wider shipyard with their Born Electric philosophy and shipbuilding expertise in aluminium construction.
