Southern Wind has started construction of the new RP-Nauta 100 custom yacht, commissioned by an experienced yachtsman who has placed his trust in the shipyard’s new shareholders.

The yacht’s general design, exterior and interior were developed by Nauta Design in association with Reichel Pugh Yacht Design for Naval Architecture, while Gurit will look after structural engineering. Systems are by Southern Wind Shipyard.
An important addition to the yard’s current order book, this 30-metre high performance-oriented cruiser confirms SWS leading positioning in the construction of 90 to 120-foot performance sailing yachts.
The owner had initiated the design process in 2017 with Nauta Design and soon after with Reichel Pugh Yacht Design. Southern Wind has been selected for its construction among other reputable shipyards. The commission fits with the shipyard’s objectives, style and business plan of occasionally building a custom project to develop new solutions and technologies.

The new SWS custom 100 yacht will be a very powerful 63 tons full carbon racer cruiser with a lifting keel (max draft 6,10m.) A sleek and elegant flush deck will be combined with a large sail area for performance.
The yacht is already under construction at Southern Wind Shipyard and is scheduled for delivery in Spring 2020.
