One of Australia’s most eagerly awaited resorts, The Star Brisbane, has officially opened its reservation books, inviting guests to indulge in five-star splendour and soak up Brisbane’s most breathtaking vistas starting from 29 August 2024. Nestled in the transformative $3.6-billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, this opulent retreat promises an unmatched experience.

Locals and travellers alike can now secure their stay in one of the 340 luxurious rooms of The Star Grand, the flagship hotel of The Star Brisbane. Designed to mirror the vibrant spirit and dynamism of the river city, The Star Grand offers a taste of luxury with rooms ranging from the chic River King and City King Rooms to the elegant open-plan River and City Suites, culminating in the sumptuous Skyline City Suites and four extraordinary Skyline Penthouse Suites.

The Star Brisbane’s CEO, Daniel Finch, hailed the opening of hotel bookings as a monumental milestone in the resort’s phased unveiling. “As we prepare to reveal a destination nearly a decade in the making, we’re thrilled to invite guests of The Star Grand hotel to experience the boundless possibilities awaiting them,” he said.

“The Star Grand’s floor-to-ceiling windows will serve as a prime spot to witness the dazzling displays of the Brisbane Festival, gearing up for footy finals, the Melbourne Cup and the festive cheer of Christmas and New Year’s Eve.”

The hotel will soon roll out various dining and leisure venues, promising returning guests new delights with every visit. The forthcoming attractions include culinary marvels and the grand reveal of hotel pools, steam room, sauna, and gym, perfectly timed for summer.

The Star Grand, a cornerstone of The Star Brisbane and the wider Queen’s Wharf precinct, is set to add a new dimension to the city. It strengthens Brisbane’s allure for both domestic and international visitors, offering compelling reasons to explore Queensland ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Positioned within a world of discovery, The Star Grand serves as a gateway to the best Brisbane offers within the expansive 12-hectare riverside precinct. Guests will be treated to an unforgettable stay from the moment they arrive, greeted by a stunning 21-metre glass oculus that bathes the resort’s grand entrance in Brisbane’s warm, natural light.

Dominating the entrance is First Nations artist Tony Albert’s 15-metre floating botanical sculpture Inhabitant, a mesmerising centrepiece.

On entering the Lobby, guests are welcomed by a bespoke hand-made Lasvit glass lighting installation, their senses immediately captivated by the sights, sounds, and aromas of The Star’s award-winning Japanese restaurant, Sokyo. Guests ascend through the resort to rooms that occupy Levels 8 to 17 across two river-facing towers.

International design studio Hassell drew inspiration from Brisbane’s subtropical landscape, incorporating the ripples of the Brisbane River in the design, reflected in the extraordinary Calacatta Viola and the curves of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs.

The rooms feature bespoke Australian art by local talents, showcasing the region’s essence in myriad forms, with works by Brisbane’s Anita West, Noosa’s Michael Whitehead, Northern Rivers’ Jane Hoggard, and Gumbaynggir and Bundjalung artist Charmaine Davis.

The Star Grand Brisbane offers 276 standard rooms, including City King, City Twin, and River King rooms, each featuring The Star’s signature bedding, dual rain showerheads, and advanced in-room technology allowing guests to personalize lighting, drapery, and temperature. The 60 lavish suites, including River Suites, City Suites, and Skyline City Suites, range from 75 to 113 square meters, each boasting open-plan living areas, king beds, and luxurious freestanding bathtubs.

The pinnacle of luxury, four Skyline Penthouse Suites, spanning 217 square meters each, crown the top two levels. These suites, designed for those seeking grandeur at every turn, feature expansive open-plan lounge and dining areas, two private guest retreats with ensuites, and oversized bathtubs perfect for sunset soaks. A kitchenette with a well-equipped butler’s pantry and separate staff entrance enhances the ease of sky-high entertaining.

As part of its grand offerings, The Star Grand will feature alongside an array of culinary delights, dynamic entertainment, and event destinations, including the striking Sky Deck, riverfront parklands, and public art trails.

Additional venues set to debut include Cucina Regina, Black Hide Steak & Seafood by Gambaro, and Azteca on The Terrace; Celebrity Chef Luke Nguyen’s Fat Noodle; LiveWire entertainment venue; and a sprawling Sports Bar on the Casino floor. Sky Deck will host Aloria, Babblers, and Cicada Blu.
