Living up to their motto of “never enough”, Wider Yachts has announced the launch of the multi-award winning superyacht WIDER 150, now rechristened M/Y Bartali by her new owner, in Ancona, Italy.
Constructed entirely of aluminium, the elegant silhouette of the WIDER 150 includes a 90sqm ‘beach club’ with a 7 metre indoor swimming pool and an incredible 75sqm master stateroom. The yacht’s ability to run in near silence using only her batteries has resulted in unprecedented levels of interest and a collection of awards from the most prestigious organisations, including the World Superyacht Awards, World Yachts Trophy and MYS/RINA.
“The team has worked very hard, working extra shifts to ensure that we complete the requested changes and hit the delivery date agreed with the new owner. It is our mandate to never compromise on workmanship and to deliver on our promises, and I am very proud to be working with everyone involved,” said Michael Hackman, Executive Vice President – Marine Operations with Genting Hong Kong and interim Chairman of WIDER. “Bartali will be leaving in a couple of weeks, and we will turn our attention to the WIDER 165.”
Following her final delivery, Bartali will be heading off to the Cote D’Azur where her new owners plan to move aboard for the season.
Back at the WIDER shipyard, work continues with the construction of the WIDER 165, project Cecilia, which remains on schedule to be launched in early 2018. The WIDER team was excited to share that there have been a few enquiries made after the sale of Cecilia as well as for other future projects.
In April 2017, WIDER was acquired by Exa Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Genting Hong Kong Limited.
Additional information on the success of the WIDER 150:
At the World Yachts Trophy 2016 held in Cannes, the Italian superyacht won the highly-contested award for ‘Most Innovative Yacht’ in the 38-54 metre category. Further recognition arrived at the MYS Awards Ceremony (on the eve of the Monaco Yacht Show), where the WIDER 150 received the 2016 MYS/RINA Award. This prestigious trophy rewards the most eco-friendly superyacht exhibited at the Monegasque event.
The icing on the cake came when Prince Albert II of Monaco, together with the CEO of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA), Ugo Salerno, toured the WIDER 150 and bestowed the vessel with the prestigious RINA Platinum Green Plus Award. Presented to the best yacht over 40 metres, the Green Plus Award recognises that the WIDER 150 exceeds others superyachts concerning her “green” credentials.
