Elica Group, a Bulgarian family-owned company, has reported “high interest” in the Omaya 50, the debut model from its new Omaya Yachts power catamaran brand launched earlier this year.

The debut model is part of a line-up that will eventually include 62-foot (18.9-metre) and 80-foot (24.4-metre) options. Elica Group says the Omaya 50 aims to distinguish itself through a design focused on simplicity and functionality.

“One of our primary goals was to maximise the benefits of the catamaran structure, and that’s deeply ingrained in our philosophy,” says Kaloyan Radulov, CEO and co-founder of Omaya Yachts.

“For us, luxury means comfort and convenience. We’ve never subscribed to the idea that luxury is about flashy features or exotic, expensive materials. We care about how our clients feel and build that emotional connection to Omaya that aligns with them as individuals. Luxury clients expect more than just a product, they want meaningful exclusive experiences.”

The Omaya 50 has an 8.4-metre beam, offering ample space designed for relaxation and comfort at sea. Radulov explains that the design approach emphasises simplicity, focusing on user needs rather than incorporating extravagant elements.

“In designing the Omaya 50, which boasts an 8.4-metre beam, we aimed to create a space where you can genuinely relax and enjoy your time at sea, not just with extravagant features but with a layout that serves your needs,” he says. “The design’s ‘back to basics’ approach focuses on delivering peace, quiet, and a thoughtful experience in a well-crafted environment.”

A key feature of the Omaya 50 is its unconventional layout. Unlike traditional Mediterranean catamarans, the design eliminates fixed composite seating in the aft cockpit to provide an unobstructed view of the sea.

“One of the most distinctive aspects of the Omaya 50 is its layout, which breaks away from the typical design seen in Mediterranean catamarans,” says Radulov.

“For instance, we’ve removed the fixed composite seating areas in the aft cockpit to offer an uninterrupted, infinity-like view of the sea. This design decision reinforces our focus on creating a seamless connection with the surroundings.”

The interior design prioritises increased saloon volume, providing a versatile space suitable for use during various weather conditions. “We also prioritised increasing the saloon volume, making it a more versatile space where owners and guests can enjoy their time even in cooler months or during particularly hot days when the air conditioning offers a refreshing retreat,” Radulov says.

Elica Group says the outdoor spaces on the Omaya 50 have also been carefully considered. The aft cockpit features a dining area with seating for up to ten people, while the front cockpit includes additional seating and sunbeds. The flybridge offers a large area suitable for gatherings or dining under the stars.

“Despite the spacious interior, we didn’t compromise on outdoor areas.

“The aft cockpit comfortably accommodates a dining table for up to ten people, while the front cockpit offers additional seating and sunbeds, perfect for lounging.

“And finally, the expansive flybridge is one of the standout features—a generously sized space where guests can enjoy spectacular dinners under the stars,” continues Radulov.

“This combination of thoughtful design, spaciousness, and the flexibility to use the boat across different seasons sets the Omaya 50 apart from its competitors. It’s not just about luxury—it’s about creating a holistic, elevated experience.”

The Omaya 50 is expected to be completed by late 2024.
