Built in Aluminium alloy to Polar Code Category C the latest 56-metre flybridge ketch concept from Dixon Yacht Design offers high/low latitude cruising in the summer months.
The Explorer 56 is very much an inside/outside concept. The on-deck saloon features large, sumptuous sofas, a formal dining area, and the navigation bridge, sharing design characteristics associated with motor yachts.
On the lower deck four, with the option for five, comfortably proportioned guest cabins can be provided together with the full-width owner’s cabin that offers direct access to the aft beach.
The large and flexible aft deck offers on-deck stowage for tender and toys. An Opacmare Transformer provides a tender lift and multi-articulating steps into the water. Two Tenders are stowed within a garage beneath the foredeck plus a dedicated jetski garage under the aft deck.
“We have taken some of the popular design features on explorer Motor Yachts such as large aft deck for on-deck tender and toys and applied them,” states Anders Berg, Partner and Principal Naval Architect at Dixon Yacht Design.
“This aft deck can also double as a beach club, with great access to the water via the Opacmare stairs. The saloon is also on deck so there’s a nice harmony between inside and outside.”
The spacious flybridge has been carefully disguised in a sleek profile, offering twin helm stations, a jacuzzi and generous entertainment space.
The vessel boasts an energy recovery system that utilises the twin propulsion pods to generate electricity while the vessel is sailing.
The ketch rig plan provides a flexible and manageable distribution of sail area, offering an exhilarating sailing experience.
This is the perfect yacht for a customer passionate about sailing without compromising on living space and functionality.
