Iliad Catamarans will offer plenty for visitors to this year’s Sanctuary Cove boat show from 25 to 28 May, with the global debut of its latest model, the 16.5-metre 53S. Featuring a sporty sedan silhouette, the model is a departure for the brand from its popular flybridge range, which includes the 50, 60 and 72.

The 53S won’t just offer stylish cruising in a semi-custom package – it will also offer it at a tempting price, with a comprehensively specced model costing in the region of US$1.795 million.

That gets you a yacht with great performance and acres of space, with the interior living areas including a generous forward lounge, helm and dining for up to eight people, with a large skylight offered as standard which floods the area with natural light. The galley offers European appliances and features an island bench, a full-size fridge and freezer, and well-designed storage.

Accommodation onboard is generous and beautifully designed with the master suite encompassing an entire hull and featuring an oversized island queen bed, panoramic windows, an expansive ensuite, and more storage and space than any other boat in its class.

The two guest cabins also enjoy an abundance of natural light courtesy of the generous windows, and each is equipped with its own designer ensuite.

It’s not just the interior that benefits from the space – the exterior also offers owner and guests plenty of room to relax and enjoy the life aquatic. The cockpit has a bar area and alfresco dining for up to 10, and there’s a barbecue, ice maker and fridge to make sure hungry mouths are fed and watered.

The tender platform is ideal for safe sea access when swimming or diving and makes a superb sunbathing spot when the tender is deployed.

The bow deck lounge features generous seating for enjoying a sundowner and has direct access to the main deck saloon.

The comprehensive standard spec includes air-con, generator, full electronics, watermaker, washer/dryer, lithium batteries, solar panels, entertainment system and more.

The model on display at SCIBS will be fitted with 440 hp engines that will propel the 53S to a projected 24 knots for fast coastal hops, with long-range cruising available at low speeds for passages of up to 3,000 nautical miles. Engine options will range from 400 hp to 550 hp.

The ILIAD 53S has been constructed with all the brand’s renowned DNA, including being beachable in emergencies, a full vinylester hull, foam core throughout, exceptionally high bridge deck clearance and premium safety features that see this new model classified in a class of its own.

There’s more for 2023 from the brand too, with the Iliad 52F (flybridge version) due to arrive in Australia for the 2023 Sydney International Boat Show.

With orders stretching into 2024 already, the brand has plans to open a new state-of-the-art shipyard to facilitate production across the Iliad range.

Viewings of the 53S at SCIBS can be booked by calling +61 (0) 499 989 559, emailing info@iliadcatamarans.com or by visiting the website.
