Numarine has offered a progress update on the construction of its new superyacht, which will become the Turkish boatbuilder’s new flagship in 2025 with the launch of the first unit.

The hull of the 40MXP project has been turned and moved to the shipyard for outfitting.

The 40MXP offers several new design features while preserving the same style cues and DNA as its siblings.

The ‘MXP’ stands for Mediterranean Explorer, reflecting the beach-club lifestyle typical of Med yachts. At two metres longer than the 37XP, the new 40MXP draws on the Med lifestyle idea in several ways.

First, the aft deck has been enlarged both due to the extra length and by moving the aft sliding doors to the saloon forward by three metres.

The result is an area with space for a large alfresco dining area, a bar, and a lounge area surrounding another new feature – an aft pool complete with a glass transom. This new social hub extends to a huge hydraulic swim platform that stretches across the yacht’s 8-metre beam.

This area can be shaded with an awning to keep the extremes of the sun at bay or, with the option of short (standard) or long (optional) upper deck extensions, can also benefit from the upper deck overhang for more permanent shade in climates such as Australia or the Middle East.

“It’s a big milestone for our new model’s construction, and I’m happy to confirm we’re on track with the delivery in 2025 as it was planned initially,” says Murat Şen, general manager of Numarine.

“I’m happy that the market has exhibited a positive response to this model, with a notable influx of interested boat owners. Three 40MXP hulls have already been sold before the first one is launched, which is a great success.”

While the ‘M’ part of the 40MXP promises the glamour of beach life, the ‘XP’ part manifests in the impressive 6,000-nautical-mile range at 8 knots thanks to the hull form developed by long-standing Numarine naval architecture partner Umberto Tagliavini.

Standard propulsion comes from a pair of MAN 800-hp engines, with the option to upgrade to a Tier III-compliant twin MAN 900-hp installation – the first two yachts sold will both have the 900 hp MAN upgrades.

The interior offers six suites for up to 12 guests, including a full-beam master suite on the main deck and a full-beam lower deck VIP suite. Can Yalman, a longtime Numarine partner, designed the interior and exterior lines.

The 40MXP also offers several features that have helped make the 37XP a commercially successful model, including an expansive flybridge, transatlantic range and a generous upper deck and main deck.

The large boat deck allows the 40MXP to carry up to a 9-metre tender and three full-size jetskis, with room for additional water sports toys.
