A landmark on Queensland’s Gold Coast, The Star is the epicentre of entertainment, events, indulgence and year-round excitement for visitors and locals.

Located on Broadbeach Island, The Star connects to the Gold Coast Highway, Broadbeach via a bridge. The tram service to Surfers Paradise is close by and the beach is a 15-minute walk away.

The rooms breathe opulence with their high-tech touches including controls to open the curtains showcasing a hinterland or an ocean view. The beds are soft and toasty as a warm marshmallow.

There are all the usual suspects of a five-star hotel, smart TV, minibar, bathrobes and slippers and a coffee pod machine. The bathrooms have dual rain showerheads and hand-held shower, Appelles products and another decadence – a pillow menu.

Where to start? Wow. There are ten places to eat in the Star Complex as well as an array of offerings a moments’ walk away.

There’s the recently opened Uncle Su with yum cha, the Harvest Buffet, Nineteen at The Star offering the sublime Gold Coast view, sophistication and a great wine list. Kiyomi offers mouth-watering Japanese, Cucina Vivo has melt in your mouth gnocchi and pastas or perhaps hawker style is your thing at Mei Wei Dumplings.

Coffee and cake are served at M&G Café and Bar and Food Quarter is great for casual dining. Garden Kitchen & Bar is where guests have breakfast but it’s also open for lunch and dinner.

Then there are the bars. Atrium Bar and Veladora are perfect for a quick drink but for eye popping views, head to Nineteen at The Star’s chic lounge bar with a seasonal cocktail menu and a 22-metre bar. Those who like their alcohol with a side of cricket or rugby or soccer should head over to the Sports Bar or for a Japanese Bar experience try Kiyomi Bar. Finally there’s an outdoor bar aptly named Outdoor Bar at Garden Kitchen & Bar.

There’s the requisite pool cabanas by a heated swimming pool, a pool bar with snack menu and two whirlpool tubs. The gym has everything you would ever want from personal training to classes for yoga, spin, Pilates, boxing and more.

The spa at the Star is the place to head for some indulgent treatments created by Babor and Li’tya. Azure Spa & Fitness offers six treatment rooms and an exclusive outdoor cabana.

The Star Gold Coast has introduced new apartment-style accommodation to its iconic Broadbeach property for the very first time with the opening of The Star Residences – Tower 1 in July this year.

Located in the upper floors of the precinct’s new $400 million 53-storey tower, The Star Residences comprise of 422 modern one and two-bedroom apartments available for short-term stays, long-term rentals, and permanent residency.

Is there anything the Star doesn’t have? There’s free live music, international shows, concerts, comedy nights, a spa, a large array of dining to select from and of course there’s the thrills of a world-class casino. For shopping stroll over to Pacific Fair Shopping Centre for a large outdoor mall experience.
