Poralu Marine was selected by BH Developments QLD Pty Ltd to design and build the new Gateway Marina in Burnett Heads, Port of Bundaberg.
Gateway Marina Burnett Heads was envisioned to be an innovative and high-end concept marina.
The site will ultimately welcome state-of- the-art marina with 318 berths, a waterfront residential community, blended with maritime and tourism activities, along with boutique retail, restaurants cafes and green open spaces.
The first stage will include 56 private berths designed to accommodate single and multihull vessels up to 27 metres, together with two additional commercial berths able to accommodate vessels up to 32 metres.
The project location is close to outstanding natural areas like the Southern Great Barrier Reef and Fraser Island.
“As well as being in an accessible and picturesque location at the mouth of the river, the marina will offer many of the modern conveniences boat owners are looking for.
Amenities include a 24-hour automated fuel dock, free Wi-Fi, convenience store, chandlery and onshore bathroom and shower amenities”, Gateway Marina developer Simon Harvey says.
BH Developments required the use of green technologies for power and water, and the respect of natural habitat for local species. Poralu Marine is deeply involved in the development and manufacturing of eco-innovative solutions for port facilities.
