Grand Inflatable Boats, a leading European manufacturer of luxury fiberglass rigid inflatable boats and tenders, made their Australian boat show debut at the Melbourne Boat Show, in partnership with Yamaha Marine.

The European RIB brand, founded 23 years ago in Kharkiv, Ukraine, announced their arrival into Australia this year and have since welcomed the entire Grand range of RIBs and tenders into the region, with a showroom and dealership on the Gold Coast.

Specialising in centre console fiberglass RIBs (from 3 to 8.5 metres), the brand offers a versatile choice of boats, from luxury tender boats, high-performance sports RIBs, family cruiser boats, to fishing RIBs and commercial boats.

With a rising demand for rigid inflatable boats in Australia, Grand offer a distinctive blend of style and functionality with boats that move away from the customarily “utilitarian” appearance of RIBs, and instead provide a comfortable, functional design finished with a sleek, angular and elevated styling.

At the 2024 Melbourne Boat Show, 17 to 20 October, Grand Boats presented some of their bestselling RIBs on the water at the Yamaha marina display. Grand have aligned themselves with Yamaha as their outboard partner of choice in Australia, citing their affiliation with the manufacturer’s industry-leading reputation for reliability and the unmatched excellence of their outboards.

Alongside viewing the latest innovations on the Yamaha display stand, visitors were able to experience Grand Boats firsthand for themselves, with the ability to get onto the boats and undertake demonstration rides out on the water.

The display included the Grand G750 – a 7.5-metre (24.6-foot) family cruising boat that includes luxury amenities such as a wet bar and entertainment area with fridge-freezer, sink, tap and shower, in-built electric toilet, and a top of the range electronics and music system by Garmin and Fusion.

The Grand D600, the brand’s 6-metre sports RIB, is set to be a bestseller for the brand in Australia. With its open plan layout, deep-v hull, raised tubes and functional layout, it’s a boat that will serve incredibly well for fishing and wakeboarding, just as much as it will for family cruising and commercial usage.

“We are incredibly excited to have finally brought Grand Boats to the Australian market,” said Carly Jennings, who in partnership with Dan Arscott represents the brand in Australia.

“We pride ourselves on the superior quality, optimised handling, and stable, comfortable ride our boats offer. With our boats on the dedicated Yamaha Marina, visitors were able to really experience Grand out on the water for themselves, and get a true sense of just how well they handle, and how comfortable these boats are for families in particular.”

Prior to establishing Grand Boats Australia, Dan sold and managed the entire distribution network for Grand Boats in the UK and Ireland for eight years, growing the Grand brand to one of the largest RIB brands in the country within a short time.

Now based at Arundel on the Gold Coast, the Grand Boats Australia showroom has the complete range of Grand RIBs on display – 18 models.

Dan and Carly are poised to appoint a Victorian dealer and have already sold several units.

“We were pleased with the brand recognition at Melbourne show, particularly among the RIB fanatics, who were excited to see Grand RIBs for themselves,” said Carly, adding that Australians are increasingly embracing RIBs as leisure craft for their “ability to absorb the chop and swell and offer a safe, dry ride”.

“RIBs are very versatile and can be used for every boating application – from fishing to commercial use. The Melbourne Boat Show was a soft launch. We are aiming to show the full 18 Grand models at the 2025 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May next year.”

With boats in stock and ready for the upcoming summer boating season, Grand Boats are inviting boat show visitors to get in touch and organise a sea trial.
