Marine Jobs is offering a tour of the Gold Coast Marine Precinct’s SMEs this month, allowing people of all ages to explore potential careers in the industry.

Registration is now open for the Gold Coast Marine Careers Open Day, which takes place in Coomera on 21 October 2023 from 9 am to 2 pm.
Hosted by Marine Jobs, the event allows attendees to tour some of Australia’s most famous manufacturers and shipyards at the Gold Coast Marine Precinct, including Riviera, Maritimo, Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard and The Boat Works.
Marine Jobs is a ‘career centre’ dedicated to the marine industry and is a collaboration between Superyacht Australia, the Marina Industries Association (MIA) and the Boating Industry Association (BIA) to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of recruitment processes for employers and increase industry employee retention.
The Gold Coast Marine Precinct is a major marine industry hub in Australia dedicated to the manufacture, servicing/repairs and refits of boats of all shapes and sizes.
Marine Jobs is offering the chance to see what career opportunities can be had crafting some of the world’s most beautiful and sought-after vessels and equipment.

Under the banner of Local Career, Global Opportunities, the event will showcase the vast range of marine careers to aspiring apprentices, young professionals, university students, and those contemplating a sea change in careers.
It will also broaden the public understanding of the marine sector’s pivotal role within the Gold Coast’s economic landscape; promote a platform where marine employers can directly engage with their future workforce; and bolster inclusivity, with a special emphasis on the invaluable roles of females and First Nations people in the marine landscape.
The event’s muster point is 27 Waterway Drive in Coomera, which is a hub of activity where marine industry SMEs converge, eager to showcase their expertise and scout fresh talent.
A central highlight of the day is the physical jobs board, bridging career seekers with tangible employment opportunities. The arena will also provide live information sessions, which highlight careers within superyachts, defence, commercial maritime operations, local manufacturing marine science and marine tourism.
Attendees are additionally invited for live interactive tours that run every 30 minutes across various facilities on Waterway Drive. These locations are Riviera Australia, Maritimo, Gold Coast City Marina and The Boat Works.
Building on the success of the Cairns Maritime Industry Open Day in May 2023, Gold Coast Marine Careers Open Day promises a “transformative experience”.
