Circumnavigation for Parkinson’s

Young sailor, Poppy Moore plans to circumnavigate Australia to raise funds for Parkinson's disease, supported by Muir Winches.

Undertaking the 12-month attempt on her yacht, Scaramouch, Moore is aiming to raise $12,000 for Parkinson’s NSW following her father’s Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2006.

Tasmanian-headquartered Muir is pleased to get behind Moore’s efforts, with Poppy choosing the Muir Storm VRC 850 as her anchor winch.

The company is looking forward to following her journey and continuing to promote the attempt to reach her fundraising goal.

Moore has undergone training equivalent to that required for a Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, and is aiming to set sail on March 30.

She says she’s looking for people to join her on different legs of the attempt and is pleased that her father will be able to follow her journey remotely.
