Maritimo continues its drive into the Americas, with new model launches and a focus on customer service. To ensure that they deliver their renowned customer experience, the company announced that two industry veterans, Keith Teynor and Josh Northrop, will be joining the Maritimo Americas team. Teynor and Northrop bring with them more than three decades of experience in the boating industry.

Keith Teynor will join the company as Managing Partner for Maritimo Americas, taking the helm from Maritimo Americas President Dave Northrop and overseeing sales, logistics, marketing, and service for the company within the United States, Canada, and South America.

And while his experience includes over a decade working in sales and managerial roles for Americas largest Marine retailer, his first experience with Maritimo stretches back to his time as the president of private lending for a National financial firm, where he conducted several transactions with the company on the client side and got to know the Maritimo team.

“I’ve always been impressed by not only the finished Maritimo product, but the build process as well,” Teynor said.

“Maritimo is different from many of today’s larger boat manufacturers in that they’re more of a boutique production builder. It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach – they do more customisation work than a lot of manufacturers of their size would be willing to do, and that’s a huge selling point for me.”

But like every manufacturer, it’s not just the boats but the people, who make the experience a memorable one.

“I’m looking forward to working for a singular builder and manufacturer, as it allows us to really become experts in the different models and develop an intimate knowledge of the brand,” Teynor continued.

“A lot of times, brokers are trying to get a quick deal, and their focus isn’t necessarily the needs of the customer, but the needs of the monthly quotas. With Maritimo, it’s all about the process and ensuring that the customer is happy. Our people are true specialists.”

Josh Northrop, son of Dave Northrop, will join the company as Factory Sales Specialist at Maritimo Americas, focusing on growing their sales and service throughout the Americas, and bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in the boating industry.

“I’m very excited about joining Maritimo,” Northrop said. “But what excites me most is the yachts, they’re just incredible. They’re great cruisers, extremely capable, and with their legendary enclosed flybridge, they’re perfect for getting the most out of the cruising season.”

“It’s a fantastic group of people, and I think that being singularly focused on one brand presents an opportunity to really dive in,” Northrop continued.

“It’s a unique product for the market – you can fish in it, you can cruise it, and the boats are just so solid and the fit and finish is like no other. There’s not much else out there that’s like it.”

“I’ve been with Maritimo since the beginning, and I’m happy to pass the mantle to someone with the experience, acumen and professionalism of Keith Teynor,” said outgoing Maritimo Americas President Dave Northrop.

“Maritimo has a legacy of being a family owned business, so it means a lot to have my son join the team. Plus, 2023 marks Maritimo’s 20th anniversary, so while leaving will be bittersweet, there’s a lot to celebrate.

“Keith and Josh know boats, they know our customers, and they know how to make sure that Maritimo’s owners have the best possible experience. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve done and confident that they’ll help guide the brand on a steady course going forward.”
