In what is a multi-year deal with Nautilus Marine, part of the umbrella company NM Insurance comprising nine specialist insurance brands covering pleasurecraft, commercial marine, caravans, motorcycles and cargo in Australia and New Zealand, the sponsorship included a range of activations during Race Week.
Established in 2005, Nautilus Marine expanded to New Zealand in 2020 and in 2021, entered a commercial partnership with the Marina Industries Association as the Official Insurance Partner.
Here, Nautilus Marine Insurance Chief Executive Officer, Lyndon Turner speaks with Ocean Media about the synergies between the business and the event, how both benefit and the flow on effect to sailing at all levels.
All of us at Nautilus Marine Insurance are incredibly excited and proud to have partnered with Hamilton Island Race Week. For our brand and clients, this partnership reinforces our support and commitment to the sailing community and is a fantastic extension of our yacht insurance expertise.
Hamilton Island Race Week is Australia’s largest offshore keelboat regatta, and we feel there is a great alignment between Hamilton Island Race Week and Nautilus Marine Insurance.
We share similar values of expertise, quality, passion and celebrating the boating lifestyle.
Our partnership with Hamilton Island Race Week complements our sponsorship and support of numerous other events across Australia and New Zealand where our customers are actively involved.
First and foremost, members of our Nautilus Marine team were on island all week, chatting to customers and engaging with yachties taking part in Race Week.
Nautilus Marine was also involved with various events and activations during Race Week, including our Skippers and Owners Welcome Party attended by Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, our Nautilus Marine Classic Long Race Day.
Nautilus Marine also presented the Daily Racing Highlights package, which featured across the main screen and hotel screens.
Our Nautilus Marine stubby holders proved very popular after a long day of racing each day! We also collaborated with Ross & Whitcroft on a fantastic competition open to all Race Week attendees and copies of Nautilus Marine Magazine were placed in every hotel room on Hamilton Island.
For those who didn’t attend Race Week, we’ve included extensive coverage of the event in our magazine, by way of portfolios both pre and post-event featuring fantastic imagery and interviews with participants. We also extended that conversation through media interviews and content updates throughout the week via our social channels.
At Nautilus Marine, our insurance knowledge powers the boating passion of our customers. A leading provider of insurance solutions for recreational vessels and marine business assets across Australia and New Zealand, we protect over 45,000 vessel owners and marine industry members.
Our market-leading policy coverage and claims support is trusted by both expert insurance brokers and experienced and knowledgeable boat owners.
We’ve been in business for over 17 years and cover pleasurecraft of all sizes, ranging from sailing dinghies and PWCs to luxury yachts as well as commercially operated boats and marine businesses.
Our team of insurance experts is located around Australia and New Zealand and is there to help boat owners navigate their insurance needs.
