From 6 to 11 September 2022, Europe’s largest in-water show will be the first major international event of the season.

For six days, under the sun of the French Riviera, the finest gems of the seas, the latest nautical equipment, exclusive high-end services and numerous innovations will all be on display for everyone to enjoy.

Since 1977, the Yachting Festival has been held every September in elegant, luxurious surroundings in the sparkling bay of Cannes.

As the first show in the boating season, the Yachting Festival is Europe’s leading in-water boating event. The major players in pleasure yachting come here to launch the show season by showcasing their new premiere.

Le Vieux Port (the Old Port), one of the oldest harbours on the French Riviera, an unmissable site in the Cannes landscape. Le Vieux Port is located at the edge of the city-centre of Cannes, near the beach and its Croisette, surrounded by the Palais des Festivals on one side and the Suquet district on the other.

In 2022, the Old Port will host more than 530 prestigious motor yachts, from 5 to 45 metres, presented by the largest shipyards in the world.

This section will host four dedicated spaces: the electric boat area, power multihull area, sea trials area and engines, both outboard and inboard.

Vieux Port is also the setting of the Luxury Gallery, an area dedicated to luxury and the art of living.

There will be around ten vessels in the 100-percent electric or hybrid category, including boats from Candela Boats, XShore, Axopar Boats, Vita-Yachts and Rand Boats.

The area reserved for power multihulls includes more than 20 units from 10 to 24 metres.

Located outside the exhibition area and accessible only when accompanied by an exhibitor, the Sea Trials Area can accommodate around twenty boats.

This year, the Sea Trial Area has been enlarged to make sea trials easier and ensure the Festival is safe by reducing maritime traffic within the port.

The space reserved on land for the presentation of outboard/inboard engines, located on the Quai Max Laubeuf offers visitors an array of the world’s leading engine manufacturers of small to medium-sized units.

The Luxury Gallery, dedicated to luxury, artisanal products and lifestyle, is located inside the Palais des Festivals and showcases high-end international brands from the realms of watchmaking, jewellery, spirits, fashion and accessories, household linen, decoration, furniture, design, art, high-tech products, services and travel.

Port Canto, on the other side of the Croisette, is the second port in Cannes. It is divided into three separate areas: The Sailing area installed since 2019 is the biggest global in-water showcase for new sail yachts.

The width of its 4,000-square-metres quayside area means visitors can enjoy their visit in comfort. This magical place offers a fine view of the 115 monohull and multihull boats from 10 to 28 metres on show.

Also in the heart of the Sailing area, the Innovation Village”was launched in 2021 and set up in partnership with Mer Angels & BNP Paribas Banque Privée.

It showcases intelligent start-ups in the nautical sector offering breakthrough technologies or high added-value services.

From boat design to putting owners in contact with captains, these start-ups share the same values of supporting and developing the sea economy, while also protecting the seafaring space.

These start-ups are creating the future of yachting: yachting that is more powerful, more responsible and more environmentally friendly.

The Palais des Festivals has a large area devoted to luxury yachting players: shipyards, architects and designers, internal layouts, ready-to-wear, accessories, tourism institutions and marinas, service companies (financing, banks, insurance), while the Tender and Toys areas presenting the latest innovations can be found outside.

Because ecological transition is essential, the Yachting Festival has created a Green Route to highlight all the eco-high performance solutions that the exhibitors have developed to reduce the nautical industry’s environmental impact on the sea and marine ecosystems and thereby heighten awareness among visitors.

The Yachting Festival aims to reduce its activities’ environmental impact and has implemented several actions in 2022.

The Brokerage area has, for 15 years, played host to the leading French and international players in the pre-owned yachts market.

For 2022, a selection of high-quality used boats from 22 metres long will be available for purchase or charter. Visitors can arrange to meet with crew, inspect their boats and share insight into their unique features.

Opposite the pre-owned yachts area since 2018, the Toys area takes advantage of the wide areas of this section to exhibit on-land an increasingly large selection of sport, fun and nautical activities equipment.

A fast-growing sector, water toys for the young and young at heart have become must-have equipment on yachts. Increasingly stylish, sporty, technical and eco-responsible, these accessories are great fun and thrilling for those who use them.

The much-anticipated Concours d’Elegance is an elegant parade of heritage and unique day boats, paying tribute to the rich history of yachting on the French Riviera.

It will take place on Saturday 10 September 2022 on the beach of Palais des Festival, open to the public from the beach festival and with tickets on sale for the VIP area.

The Ocean Media team will attend the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival and look forward to catching up with colleagues and clients over the six days.
